Wraith Squadron
Author: Aaron Allston
Setting: Two years after
Return of the Jedi
Series: X-Wing (Book 5/9)
Rating: 4/5
Plot: Rogue Squadron has returned home victorious
over Ysanne Isard and her fleet. With
the bacta fully available the Krytos Plague has been stomped out. Wedge Antilles comes up with a new idea, a
pilot-commando squadron. It comes just
in time to, as the hunt for Warlord Zsinj begins, Wraith Squadron enters the
battlefield.
Review: Don’t get me wrong. I love this book, it has great humor, great
fight scenes, and Allston throws in a hottie or two for good measure (hell, can’t
go bad with that). It just seems that
Allston felt like cloning Rogue Squadron with some rejects who end up fighting
one another. Sure, the book was
amazing, but why let this be printed rather than something original? All in all, though, the book was worth
reading, and the rest of the Wraith Squadron series isn’t a disappointment.
