This book is available for purchase is is published on CD-ROM in Adobe Acrobat 4.0 format (PDF), which may be read using Acrobat Reader 4.0 or later on both PC and Macintosh computers.
The fifth edition has been in preparation since 1990, when the fourth edition (140% larger) was published. Hence it was not practical to publish the book on paper. The $60.00 cost of the fourth edition would have to rise to nearly $150.00, and it would be unwieldy to use.
The price for the CD-ROM of the fifth edition includes the costs incurred by the compiler and the costs for donating copies to the libraries and societies that now own the fourth edition. Any excess funds will be used to donate copies to more libraries, and to support the activities of the National Blue Family Association.
