Scholastic Chess Championships

Join us for 6 Swiss style rounds of Championship chess contested in 4 separate divisions.

Registration (please read carefully)

Registration fee $11 (includes $1 Texas Chess Association tournament fee)

USCF membership is required and entry form must have USCF # and expiration date. USCF membership can be purchased or renewed with registration.<$12 Elem. & M.S. students; $17 for H.S. students> These checks also payable to Pace High School Chess Club and must be included with payment.

Registration deadline will be Friday, February 5^th, 1999.

There will be NO onsite registrations.

Only registrations with payment will be accepted; no faxes, no exceptions.

Registration will close at 400 entries. Please include a phone number incase your entry does not meet the number cut off.

No changes will be allowed on the day of the tournament; any withdraws for refund will be allowed only until Thursday, February 11^th, 1999(it is imperative that we start the tournament on time!)

Sections

High School Section ( 9^th grade through 12^th grade)

Middle School ( 6^th grade through 8^th grade) Please note: Sixth graders in middle school must play in the M.S. section.

Elementary ( Kindergarten through 6^th grade) Please note: Sixth graders in Elementary can play in M.S. or Elem. sections.

Primary ( Kindergarten through 3^rd grade)

Prizes

All Sections: Trophies for 1^st through 20^th place and medals for 21^st through 40^th place. Trophies to the top 10 teams in each section. Primary; Medals for all Kindergarten participants.

Miscellaneous Information

Bring your chess sets, pencils, and if you own a clock, please bring it also.

Food and drink will be available for sale by various Pace H.S. organizations.

Dress comfortably; it will be a long day.

Parents and coaches, every available chair and table will be used for the tournament participants; you're welcomed to bring pillows, blankets and lawn chairs.

No spectators will be allowed in the hall, no exceptions; only the tournament staff will be allowed..
