If you arrived here it is probably because you registered online for the 2001 Summer Round Robin Tournament. Thanks! I appreciate that.
Because I appreciate that you can pay or commit to pay in a couple of ways.
#1 The preferred method is through
#2 You may commit to paying onsite by e-mailing bob@jamesgang.ws. Please let me know which tournament or camp you are commiting to. Normally, onsite registration would be at least $10 more. If you have registered before the late registration deadline, I will accept your commitment to pay without charging you the extra fee. Be careful though! If you make this commitment and then don't show up without letting me know ahead of time, I will probably assess a $10 penalty over and above the entry fee and you will not be able to play in any events I run until that fine is paid. (Unless you have a pretty good excuse. And I don't fall for too many fake excuses...I am a teacher!)
"Why would I do that?" you may ask. I do that because when you commit to paying onsite, I put you in the tournament. That means that someone else who paid their money to play a game is needlessly sitting down twiddling their thumbs instead of being able to play. Not only does someone not showing up without informing me ahead of time annoy me, it is extremely rude to the other player. So, show up...or at least call me if something happens! (See number on the .pdf registration file.)
#3 Finally, you can e-mail bob@jamesgang.ws and let me know that the check is already in the mail. If there is less than a week before the tournament, that could be dangerous, since the check may not arrive in time, so you may want to use one of the other options above if you are sending things in close to the deadline. If I get this e-mail, and the check does not show up by the time of the tournament, you will need to write another check onsite and I will destroy your original one when it comes in. If you don't show up after sending the check in the mail (and you don't have an acceptable excuse), you will forfeit your entry fee, but there will be no further penalty. If the check doesn't show up, then the $10 is added on as above.
