Robert Burns, Scotland's national bard immortalised the Afton Water which starts and ends in the parish of New Cumnock, in his wonderful 'Sweet Afton'. Rabbie's  association with the parish go beyond that of this beautiful burn and seem as as strong today as they were in the l8th century .
