WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL WEB-SITE OF GLENAFTON ATHLETIC www.glenafton.org.uk Players 2009-10 Signed by Gerry Collins in 2005-06, Willie Howie was instated as club captain and became an immediate hit with the Glenafton support. He led the Glens to the Ayrshire League Cup and West of Scotland Cup double in his first season. Remarkably his tenacious performances were not recognised with International Caps. The Glens, under Gordon Dalziel, saw off competition from a number of senior clubs to re-sign their captain for the start of Season 2008-09, much to relief of the Loch Park loyal. Willie started every league game that season but damaged his cruciate ligament in the last game against Pollok and missed the play-off games against Lanark. He is the current longest serving player at the club and has thus far has made over 130 appearances for the Glens. Willie at Loch Park in the 4-0 league victory over Cumnock Juniors in 2008-09
