During 1990 and 1992 no one was sure if BJ were still together or if they had split up. Fortunately they stayed together. The result is Keep The Faith, an apt title, some fans did lose the faith. Fortunately not too many.

Keep The Faith welcomes us the Chapter Two, Page One in the life and times of Bon Jovi. The sounds are new, the image is new. Gone is Jon's hair. He appears sporting a new short cut and blonder hair. Jon got married in 1989, and his new found maturity is reflected in some of the KTF songs.

The album is a mix of Rock and Ballads. Keep The Faith, Woman In Love, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead all cater for the old BJ fans, classic Rock in other words. Bed Of Roses, Dry County (a 10 minute epic) show us what Jon is capable of writing. The words are moving, the topics touching, the emotions obvious. In These Arms is somewhere in the middle, rock and love song, an excellent mix.

Keep The Faith sends crowds wild when it is played live. It is an essential ingredient to make a Bon Jovi cake. I'll Sleep When I'm Dead is nearly always performed as a medley with other songs, covers, usually Jumpin' Jack Flash, but others have included Papa Was A Rolling Stone and Glory Days (written by Bruce Springsteen, New Jersey's other big name). In These Arms was skipped for the 95 tour, other than that it is always included, as is Bed Of Roses. Dry County also pops up every now and then.

Keep The Faith Out-takes

1. Fields Of Fire

2. Starting All Over Again

3. The Sole Truth

Due to a change in management, and Jon's direct control on this album, no bootleg outtakes were ever released. Both Fields Of Fire and Starting All Over Again have been released, Fields of Fire was included on the limited edition These Days Bonus CD, released mid-1996, and Starting All Over Again was included on the Japanese and Australian issues of Keep The Faith, as well as on various singles.

The Sole Truth has only been performed live once, at the Christmas 91 Benefit concert in New Jersey, here Jon mentions that he is not sure if it will be on the album or not. This has never been available as a studio track.
