The Crossroad of Bon Jovi's career. Ideally this would have come in 1992, pre-KTF, but it didn't. The songs represent the best of Bon Jovi. I can't fault the album. It was the best selling album in 1994, and not without good reason.

The new tracks Always and Someday I'll Be Saturday Night again show the direction of BJ for the Nineties. Always a sad love song, and excellent live song. Someday I'll be Saturday Night, a song of hope. Both demostrate the new Jovi style, and as an adaptation for the 1990's who could do better?

The only odd appearance is track 9, Blaze Of Glory. This is from Jon's solo album (1991), the Young Guns 2 Soundtrack. Jon refused to acknowledge it as his first solo single, but its here anyway. The band perform it live now, along with Stranger In This Town, a song from Richie's solo album of which it is the title track.

It was Richie's suggestion of a title which was refused (fortunately). He had wanted to call the album 'Elvis Is Dead, But We're Not'. Thankfully Jon and the rest of the band didn't like this idea.

There are various versions of Crossroad available. The Japanese issue has Tokyo Road instead of In These Arms, whereas the American version has Prayer 94.
