From the garden to the cross

We cannot even begin to imagine
Our Savior's feelings that precious night
As He prayed to His Heavenly Father
And knew His death would soon be in sight

Oh, He knew one would betray Him
And He knew that time was near
Yet He prayed the words to His Father
If it be His will, He would not fear.

He knew He was the chosen one
From youth on through His life
To pay the price for all man's sins
He knew He was the Ultimate sacrifice.

So willingly He walked down that road
Carrying the cross on which He was to be placed
He did not have the angels remove Him
His crucifixion He was ready to face

As they drove nails into His hands and feet
The pain nearly too much to bear
Yet He never spoke out in anger or hate
His love for man was beyond compare!!

He did this for me, He did this for you
And for all mankind here below
Yet many turn their backs on Him
Oh, ..for them will be an eternity of woe..
