Obituary indicates that Willie went to Lowell, Mass as a young man (I think about 1894 so he would have only been 17). In Lowell he worked as a store clerk. He met Minnie there and they married 18 April 1900. After he and Minnie moved back to PEI he farmed for awhile and then built and operated a grocery store in New Haven. Their only child Emma was born in 1905. At age nine months and 17 days she died of whooping cough. She is buried at the McArthur Cemetery with her Rogerson grandparents and other relatives. Later Willie sold the store and he and Minnie moved to the Rogerson homestead. He lived there until his death on November 4, 1960 (at age 83). According to the Obituary he married my grandmother Gladys McRae in 1943. Willie's brother Jim and his nephew (Little ) Harry lived with my grandmother after Willie's death. |
