Well, here's my next 4 times annual blog :)
Meh, as far as blogs go.. I just never seem to be bothered these days.. but in general.. . I started my uni placement year, that's going alright, I'm a webmaster for a small company based in their house. Only 3 days a week, and now I recently quit my second job, I should hopefully have a bit of spare time.. phew..
My mum's been a bit ill lately.. got an absess and an infection or something, so they're currently keeping her in hospital until she gets better.. meh
I've been playing lots of games as usual, and watching a lot of dvd's .. since working in Derby, I've been visiting the local 'geek shop' (as phee would probably call it), and I've started to become a bit of an anime and manga fan .. which is of course costing me a fair chunk of my earnins.. but meh :P
Currently I'm just looking forward to going to Blackpool .. .. have a nice holiday, meet some old friends (literally.. .. it's not like we ever seem to talk anymore .. .. damn death of IRC) .. hmm.. that about it really.. .. sums it up I guess.. but I am still alive :)

Well.. been a while ;)
Finally got my package from amazon.. had fright night on dvd (which I'm yet to watch..), kingdom hearts (which does seem pretty cool.. and yet, I'm not amazingly impressed with it.. meh.. the endless real time third person combat seems to drag on a bit.. some games pull it off better than others (I love the legacy of kain style fighting) .. but this one.. well.. I might hopefully get into it after a bit more play.. which will have to be later.. as I'm currently hooked on my third and final buy, which was disgaea... now this is an interesting game :)
It seems like it's going to be pretty huge as well.. I'm currently on about level 8.. and you can get to levels in the thousands.. (literally).. so.. lots of play to get through :)
Currently, I'm happy because I managed to beat my first item world general... basically, in this game, you can enter the world of an item (it's random generated about 30-100 levels.. with the number of levels dependant on the rarity of the item).. and in this world.. the more levels you get down.. the higher powered the item gets.. you can also subdue useful monsters in these item worlds.. which add more bonus's to the items.. (such as bagging a statistician.. who will increase the exp you earn.. etc) .. these people can also be migrated to other items and stuff.. this is a pretty large thing.. and it's only a kinda sub part of the game! :)
The game just seems pretty huge.. and I'm enjoying it so far.. it's a lot like final fantasy tactics.. and although I do prefer the job and JP side of FFT, the item world is pretty cool.. ooh.. and you get a nice succubus in your party ..mmm :)

Well, a while ago.. I had a sudden urge to play final fantasy tactics again... as I never did finish it the last time... this of course means that I will end up starting it again... and may very well quit it halfway through again... but ah well
Problem is, that after about 20-25 minutes of fixing and minute tweaking, as well as testing... it finally now works again in epsxe (o: That's the problem with using the psx emulator.. it can take a lot of tweaking to get a game just right.. although this time I took a screenshot of the settings... so next time should be ok...
In truth.. I don't actually need to play it on the emulator... as I have the proper psx game, and a ps2... but meh.. I'm lazy, and prefer the fact I can be watching tv while I play it, as well as use emulation saved whenever I want.. that's the wonder of PC's... quicksaves! (o:

Watched Ninja Dragon last night... and that was absolutely crap :oP Ended up taking it out after about an hour and just watching my new spaceballs dvd again... yay.. Spaceballs!
9th June 2004
Well, I'm currently watching Ninja Terminator... and.. well, the quality is about as good as I expected. That's to say, they don't seem to know the concept of lipsynching and seem to put incredibly dodgy background music on... virtually all the time.
That said... it is amusing at some points... like the use of tiny toy robots to deliver ninja death threats... and some of the amusing ninja stuff... like vanishing and suddenly having changed into a ninja suit (in like.. a second) ... and this really hard ninja dude who wears a kinda.. urban camoflage ninja suit... and cuts watermelons into lots of pieces... has a garfield phone... which didn't seem to fit his image (o:
It isn't too bad tho... and I'm kinda looking forward to watching the other ones I bought after this...

Finished zelda last night... took a while.. cause instead of just running through the game, I went and looked for (and found) all the secrets and stuff... meh.. cause I could.
After the constant non-start of the rpg campaign I'd be hoping to run, me and pixie were talking and it ended up giving me the idea of trying to run one over the email.. as he pointed out to me.. this would be handy in that people like Bowch (who is always working or stuff on rpg days) could get involved too .. which would be great, as we haven't had enough players as we went further into phee's campaign. At any rate, just waiting to see what other people think to the idea at the moment.. I've gone and knocked up some simple rules and stuff already anyway .. and have a few nice ideas for extra fun bits as well..
But still.. just have to wait to see if people are interested first (o;
Update
Just finished American McGees Alice... and have to say, I was impressed with it in general. Found it to be a very enjoyable platformer... dunno what to play next now.. although I might give Star Wars Bounty Hunter a go...

I have Zelda! Wooooooooooo!
A Long time ago (not in galazy far far away tho) I borrowed Zelda, the ocarina of time off a mate... I fell in love with it... it's an amazing game.. but since that time.. no zelda for me
Despite numerous attempts to get it to work on emulation (and believe me, downloading an n64 rom is damn slow with 56k) .. it never properly worked.. and I never truly got to play my beloved zelda again... until now!
Bought the cartridge off amazon marketplace for only £8.. and after frantically trying to figure out how to set it up with the aerial.. (I was trying to figure out where the hell the ps2 plugged in.. thinking I'd have to switch the two... but of course.. ps2 is scart isn't it.. and there 3 little cables I'd mistakenly thought was some kind of speaker link (don't know why.. my telly doesn't even HAVE speakers!) was actually the scart link bit.. pfft.. so anyway.. hooked up my n64.. allocated a channel on the telly.. had a brief panic over the damn thing not working... and then it finally did!... I have zelda! Woooohooooooo! .. it's probly not great that I have a test tomorrow... but pfft.. I'm gonna play zelda all night long... yeah baby!
31st May 2004
Went shopping today... and amongst the nice books I found (got some dragonlace ones for £1 each) I also discovered one shop selling dvd's at 4 for £5. That was quite cheap.. but .. so were the films ;) .. all of them looked a bit weird and not any decent looking ones... yet.. with phee and Mark firmly in mind, I ended up buying the following...
Ninja Terminator
Golden Ninja Warrior
Ninja the Protector
Lethal Ninja
The Ninja Squad
Ninja Dragon
Blood of Dragon Peril
Revenge of the Drunken Master
You can probably guess the underlying theme of dvd's they had available.

After checking Mark's site again.. I decided I might have a try at googlewhacking too..
It's pretty tough (o:
So far.. closest I've gotten is 11 finds.. which is Aardvark Psionicist .. me mutters about a guy with a nick called aardvark talking about D&D ;o)
Another close one was Aardvark felatio .. I didn't read too much into the 15 finds.. for sanity reasons.
Another 11 ... gah.. Aardvark waterballoon
Aardvark photographer ... 5 ... obviously people don't want photo's of aardvarks ...
Weaponless aardvark .. 10
nucleonic aardvark .. 6
aardvark dissassembly .. 10
dissassembled aardvark .. 5
I'm beginning to wonder about my luck.. Mark said his next closest to 1 was like.. 50 finds.. whereas I seem to be finding lots of ones that are very close... but no elusive single find )o:
aardvark biomechanoid .. 22
aardvark bioelectronics .. 9
aardvark purification .. 10
aardvark vassalage .. 3 (closest yet!)
Wooooohooooo! Did it... (o:

Downloaded a demo last night after it being recommended on Penny Arcade...
It's called Gish, and you play a ball of tar... theres only a few controls, like jump, stick, slide, and hard. These can do different things and stuff.. meh... I'm useless at describing things ... but find it and try it.. it's a quite fun demo and pretty interesting.
24th May 2004

22nd May 2004 Well.. played through KOTOR again.. and currently a bit bored.. although I have been playing a little civ 3 again. But anyway... Fist of the North Star is on!.. woo.. and the movie, not the manga series (which they showed ages ago on channel 4).. but damn.. I really liked the cartoon series.. and I was really upset when last time I missed the film being showed.. but this time.. I remembered, so get to watch it.. yay (o: The best thing is, already it seems to be almost as cooly exaggerated as the manga series .. so I'm greatly looking forward to a large number of large stupid men being killed and exploded in many gruesome and funny ways. (Err... that may sound a little weird.. but meh.. I'm weird ;) ... at least I'm not sitting outside watching for UFO's like some crazy people I know ;)
Meh.. you always hope for better... but.. 'twas as I expected really... a bit of a disappointment. There was a bit of making people explode and stuff.. but not much at all really.. mostly it was just martial arts stuff and kicking ass... which is all well and good.. but... that's what Steven Seagal films are for... Call me old fashioned, but I'd have been happier with an hour and a half of bones jutting out of flesh, arteries gushing (which in fairness.. there were two examples of), and more people's heads exploding due to mysterious chakra energy and stuff. Plus.. it was always more cool when a strange disembodied voice chimes in with something like "Thousand finger strike of the North Star!", after you've just make somebody grow to three times their original size then explode. Damn.. I wish they'd show the original cartoon again (o:

Also played a little civ 3 and stuff.. One thing I gotta put up (which in all fairness.. is the reason I'm probly making this blog ;o) is this piccy I found on the NWN vault.. it's a halfling.. with a backdrop of the sea.... it's Mel! (o: Love the picture.. and I've now decided that's what Mel looks like (o:

30-Jan-2004 Quiz's and stuff
Took quiz on mark's blog.. and I got...
Lovely Dawn

I dont want to spend my life answering phones in some crappy sub-branch paper merchants.
Lovely, as they do indeed say, Dawn. Looks like youre a kind, warm, if not quite motivated enough person to really get what you want in life.
But dont take this too seriously, which of course you dont do with anything in your life, which is why its continually not quite working out is it? Sure, not many people aspire to mediocrity, but you should be quite happy with that youve got, because anything else is just a dream away. In the sense that dreams are flights of fancy, fantastic journeys that have no place in this harsh, cold real world in which we live.
At least your likeable though, which is better than acheivement really isnt it?
Outlook:
Hard to tell. One lucky break, thats all you need.
Err... I'll admit to being a bit bemused by that result.. you'd think the first question.. are you male or female.. would sort the possible results out by gender.. :oP
Pfft.. so apparently I'm a woman
23rd January 2004
Wheee.. got a new seat for my room (o: My old chair broke ages ago when I leapt into it after seeing a particularly scary spider on the floor. But now I got a new one! .. its a bit bigger than necessary, but free.. (o:

20th Jan 2004
Decided to tidy up the blog a little.. put all the old ones in a seperate page.. so now shouldn't take ages for me to save this or for it to load.
Been working a bit on my blackpool setting for Buffy rpg. I think I'm pretty much finished with the map as I have it so far, so you can download it if you want to.
Map (500kb or so)
.. bet this page looks a lot smaller now ;o)
