Hero I made

11th Jan 2004
Well.. first blog for this year.. so.. what's new this year? I have new t-shirts to wear which are quite comfy, and I doubt very much I'll wear much else for the rest of the year, as I've got about 8 of these shirts.. so plenty to switch around with.
Haven't made any new years resolutions.. can't see the point in them, I spent my new years eve over at the neighbours with my mum and dad, but left about 10 to midnight, to come back home and go on chat, in the insane thought that someone else might be here :oP
Well, Bowch was, but he was only lurking.. Kurik did pop in and say happy new year tho, which was nice.. at least some people got their priorities straight :oP
Bought the nice angel corebook, which is .. nice, err... I'm hoping to run a buffy game set in blackpool, an idea which we talked about at the last meet. However some people seem to never just reply to emails or voice an opinion over stuff like this.. but of course, me being the nice and unpushy person I am, I'd never push people to reply.. would I.. :oP
Had a conversation with pix about dm'ing and stuff, and that was what got me thinking about running one myself.. tried it once before, but despite the fact I tried to do it at first, people kept just being quiet and not doing anythi... hmm.. pattern? ;o)
Seriously tho.. I hope some people will at least be able to play the buffy one.. I just wouldn't mind a chance to give it a go to be honest, it would only be a small group anyway, as Bowch and phee have problems making Sundays as far as I know.. but.. meh..
Lets see... I think that's about it...ooh, no wait, bought some games when I went shopping yesterday, got hitman, diablo 2 and soul reaver 2.. I liked soul reaver 1, so I'm looking forward to playing the sequel. Hitman seems alright, but it doesn't seem as good stealth-wise as the thief games, which I find more satisfying.. but anyway, I'll probably try and finish it.
Well, that be it.. until the next time I blog (don't expect daily reports :op )

21st Dec 2003
Haven't blogged for a while really.. just wanted to post a screenshot I made of NWN, hordes of the underdark. I actually took it a fair while ago, but forgot to post it.. meh
At any rate.. it looks like my epic character has finally found fame (o:
I looove epic levels.. he's currently Fighter 33/Weapon Master 4 I think.. trying to get him up to level 40

Been to blackpool.. yaaaaaaaaay!
But now back.. aaaawwh )o:
Highlights of the meet included: finally playing yu-gi-oh in person with gaz ;o)
D&D session bowch ran.. needless to say, didn't got quite as planned, when a kobold vampire dominated most of the party.. but.. meh.. my char Sammuel the half ogre (vampire now) had fun hitting things and knocking down doors for laughs.
Meeting all my online mates (obviously.. thats only reason I go now.. not like I care about Quest anymore)
Err... hmmm... can't actually think of anything else offhand... but it was fun!

25th Nov
Did a quiz off of MarkA's site..
Your score is 26

LEVEL 2 -- VERY STRAIGHT ACTING
.. Bowch beat me tho, he got a level 1.. ah well
Oh yeah... woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Nearly pubmeet time ;)

15th Nov 2003 - Hospital.. eeek
Good things:
Not having appendicitis

Bad things:
Being in hospital for 2 days
Being on an drip for first of those days
Having your drip dry out at 4am when you've just got to sleep, and then they wake you up.. and try to stick a new drip in.. (which reeeeeally hurts by way) .. they can't find vein.. they take 7 attempts to do this.. before giving up.. my arms hurt... big bruises
The sensation that even though it's been out nearly a day now.. I still have the weird sensation that the drip is still stuck on my right wrist
... ... *shudder* ... Rectal Examination ... ... ...
... ... I think I've been scarred

Just watched Time Commanders.. as I pretty much always do.. only writing a blog about this cause Gaz mentioned that he watches it too.. I kinda like the idea of the program.. as it sounds cool.. I however think that most of the time.. well.. it's crap :oP Even when the team playing managed to win.. I seem to end up feeling.. well.. why did they win :oP .. they sometimes just make stupid mistakes.. or end all doing all kinds of weird stuff.. and.. yet can win.. makes you wonder why they had generals.. why not just call up 4 female netballers.. :oP
Meh.. I just don't like it.. it.. never seems quite right.. bah
Interested to know how Gaz (or indeed any of you lot if you watch) feels about the program really.. maybe it's just me

Did the psychometric test thingy that MarkA did, here be my results.
Reliable
Conservative; avoids risks
Low key; reserved and cautious
Low initiative, limited ambition and drive
Cooperative, does not want to "make waves"
Conforming and conventional
Avoids conflict and controversy
Pessimistic, low self-confidence
Works best with gentle support in a well-structured workplace
Does not welcome change, does not like ambiguity
Anxious and tense
Not assertive
Over-accommodating to others
Finds it difficult to relax, to enjoy things

Ironically.. result seems kinda similar to Mark's.. in that.. seems to fit pretty well, except for the bit about being tense, unable to relax and enjoy things.. as.. well.. I do enjoy things (o:

D&D was weird last night.. the dread pirate turned out to be quite friendly.. and joined us in our quest.. but for what reason.. who knows. Hama also tried to ruthlessly murder melissa.. which was a bit of a shock.. even though I did get him trapped in a hell dimension.. I wasn't trying to kill him or anything.. meh
Watched two dvd's earlier.. Soul Survivors, and Queen of the Damned, which is the sequel to interview with a vampire. Soul Survivors was pretty rubbish in my opinion.. so.. meh.. Queen of the Damned was very cool tho.. definitely one to watch again.

Also picked up a copy of the buffy rpg that Bowch has been on about to me recently in IRC.. couldn't resist it when I spotted it.. ooh.. also found a pvp comic so grabbed that too...
Oh, and got Deus Ex for me to play when I've finished reading buffy rpg

21st October 2003
Saw this on MarkA's site...
Norbert the cuddly dragon with corduroy tummy (I can hear Fluff's screams of jealousy now)
... it's a little sad when people know that much about me.. I was feeling jealous before I'd even read the bit in brackets.. and.. then a little shocked ... hmm

On another note.. haven't wrote about D&D yet.. hmm.. lets see.. stole a ship, not the reeeeeally nice ship I wanted though )o: .. then.. sailed the ship a bit.. oh, and I pissed Harold off.. yay!
That pretty much summed it up... all I wanted to do was go shopping :oP
Note to phee: Tell Claire to put some shops in the next one ;o)

Bought Matrix Reloaded yesterday, and watched it last night. Woo.. matrix rocks

6th October 2003
Well.. D&D was last night.. and was pretty fun.. after quite handily beating some mirror demons that had popped out of mirrors and attacked us, the party was left with a bit of a quandary.. hama (a monk in party) had been grabbed by one of mirror things and pulled into a mirror.. and the rest of the party was trying to figure out the best way to get him out. Now, before we go into what happened.. you must realise that the relationship between Hama and Melissa was possibly a bit strained, by the fact that when trying to escape from prison (waiting to be executed) Hama betrayed the party, called out the guards, and probly nearly got us all killed. so.. not exactly Melissa's favourite person ;) We'd already left Hama behind once in the jail, but he magically managed to make it back to the party... bah
But anyway.. Hama was stuck in the mirror.. and the restof the party (particularly Harold, the Gnome sorceror) was faffing about wondering what to do.. Melissa decided to take action in her own 'special' way, and just broke the damn mirror (o:
As it turned out.. Hama wasn't stuck behind the mirror.. but inside it.. so.. kind of got trapped in some hell dimension when the mirror broke.. whoops (o;
Melissa sort of pissed Harold off by this, and given she wasn't really that repentant about it.
Later, we found some tomb, opened it, and some gem turned us all to stone... for 5 years.. eep! Luckily though, we were eventually brought back to life by Silva (a friend of Mel's) and... Hama! bah.. what do you have to do to get rid of him? Artifacts must be easier to get rid of.. I figure next time Mel will just push him into a volcano or something (o;
Oh.. and.. if Bowch is reading this.. err... don't get Hama to kill me ;)

5th October 2003
Reader discretion advised - Rated S for lots of snot references (not for the sensitive) Eww.. I feel all ill and nasty )o: got an awful cold.. (I know it's awful, because I can blow my nose. That makes little sense.. so I'll explain ;) .. I tend to have picked up a snuffly habit over the years.. I'm always snuffling from the slight build up of snot in my nose... and.. even when I had colds when young.. I could never blow my nose.... mum even spoke to doctor about it once.. just couldn't seem to do it.. well.. at least, I couldn't til about two years ago.. when I caught what was probly worst cold of my life.. and suddenly found I could blow my nose, and indeed, had to keep doing it in an attempt to be able to breathe normally :oP .. so at any rate.. I know when I can blow my nose that I have a 'proper' cold..
Aaaaaaanyway .. looking doubtful that I'm gonna turn up at uni tomorrow.. all bunged up, coughing and spluttering.. and just feeling pretty much yucky.. so.. bah.. only second week of uni and I already missing stuff.. gah!

27th September 2021
Firstly.. Mark.. on that steve page.. just look at the top left small piccy.. put glasses on it.. it's you ;o)
And now.. recent events.. went out playing football today with mates (well.. football/frisbee/sitting on grass talking).. one of my mates was telling me how he knew this guy who apparently just called him up one night when he was drunk .. and said. "You'll never guess what I just did.." .. surely a phrase to fill most people with dread (o:
Anyway.. apparently.. KFC leave these tray type things in a cage outside at night for people to collect them in the morning.. and. he'd .. well, set fire to them... which apparently reached the papers.. eep
Another surprise was later on when Rich (my mate, not the arsonist) admitted the arsonist was his new boyfriend ... apparently he a bit of a nutter when drunk.. got a few more stories bout his drunken antics.. like.. him getting in his roommates (who a lesbian) wardrobe wearing a pair of her knickers on his head.. and then proceeding to break the wardrobe.. then blaming it on her in the morning (o;
He also apparently got drunk and when his roommate wasn't in, got in her bed and had a wank.. .. .. I think the hardest thing to believe in these stories is not the actual events (meh.. drunken people are stupid).. but that somehow his roommate puts up with this ... hehe
At any rate.. err.. that's my mates new boyfriend.. not really much to do with me at all. just wanted to tell the funny story .. hehe..
That's it

26th September 2003
Just checked Mark's blog... and checked a link he told us to look at.. with a piccy of him or summat.. and.. was just curious.. is it just me.. or in that picture, does Mark look kinda similar to that guy off coronation street?... hmm (o:
That's it, nothing much else is happening

HOW OLD WERE YOU? .. no matter how fictional? ... errr.. oookay.. my first memory.. was.. it was all dark.. and.. then suddenly there was this big boingy kinda noise.. and all these twirly stars and dust flew out of my nose.. and out into the darkness. Then I created Macdonalds to bring joy to the universe.

11. WHAT'S THE MOST VIVID/MEMORABLE DREAM YOU'VE EVER HAD? dunno really.. rarely remember them anyway.. in terms of memorable. I'd probly say a weird recurring one I had for about a week when I was a kid.. when I dreamed that a big airplane (which had a space shuttle strapped on its top) kept crashing into the park and killing me.. even when I tried to run away..
One of most freaky ones I remember was when I was ill.. and I think I was hallucinating/feverish.. I remember a train full of leering monsters chugging around the roof of my bedroom... weird
Vivid.. well.. one that definitely felt very real was one where I was having sex with some cute girl (o; ... I just wish I had dreams like that all the time.. only one I've had :oP
12. WHICH FAMOUS PERSON WOULD YOU BE MOST LIKELY TO CHASE, PIN DOWN AND BEAT WITH YOUR SHOE IF YOU SAW THEM IN THE STREET? Err... no-one.. I don't really dislike anyone enough to lose all sense.. famous people can hire famous lawyers :oP

14. IF YOU ANSWERED 'yes' TO No.13, WHO WOULD YOU TELL FIRST? WHO WOULD YOU NEVER EVER EVER TELL? and WOULD YOU BUY ANYONE SUPER-DUPER PRESENTS? if so, WHAT and WHO FOR? Probly my parents (if they were in), followed by everyone on irc at the time, followed by anyone else who I have emails for (by everyone, I mean everyone who matters.. which there aren't too many of :oP ) .. would buy some people presents no doubt.. depends how much I won.. I'd probly make sure the next pubmeet was a hell of a lot of fun tho ... maybe have a pubmeet in .. err.. actually.. I don't like forrin places... so.. maybe just fly everyone out to my huge mansion to play 10 pin bowling and stuff (o;
15. WHAT'S THE WORST NIGHT OUT YOU'VE EVER HAD? WHERE & WHY? One new years eve I drank all of the strongbow I had taken with me.. then all of my mates Smirnoff Ice, then some white lighting.. then I spent the rest of the night curled up next to the toilet.
16. WHAT'S THE MOST DRUNK YOU'VE EVER SEEN MARK? (OR ANYONE ELSE IF IT SO PLEASES) Dougal McDougal ... nuff said
17. HAVE YOU EVER RUN SCARED FROM ANYTHING NON-HUMAN? (PREFERABLY ANIMAL, BUT MACHINE WILL DO TOO, OR ANYTHING ELSE) err.. can't think of anything.. so probly a no.. I'd assume I'd remember being chased by a tiger or summat
18. WHAT ITEM OF CLOTHING OWNED BY A FRIEND WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO OWN YOURSELF? WOULD YOU BE LOW ENOUGH TO STEAL IT? I ain't no thief.. I'd maybe try buy it off them tho.. but.. err.. as I can't think of anything I really want owned by a friend.. so mah ;)
19. IF YOU DECIDED TO HAVE KIDS AND CALL THEM COMEDY NAMES JUST FOR LAUGHS, WHAT WOULD YOU CALL THEM (2 KIDS) TO MAXIMIZE BULLYING POTENTIAL? .. hey.. you're talking to the guy who's uncle to two kids called Jean-Luc and Dianna Troi .. what can I say? (o:

I did end up getting a wee bit injured by traps (jumping onto a spike trap isn't nice) ... but meh... what doesn't kill you.. just.. err.. has a chance of crippling you for life or making you easier to kill next battle
Did have some problems in the session tho.. as phee's connection went a bit floopy.. and even when we tried a new server.. the new server was rubbish :oP

15th September 2003 17:06
Been playing a lot of morrowind lately.. would've been playing Pirates of the Caribbean.. but it was crap.. kept crashing.. or when it wasn't crashing.. the sound would go crazy and make load clicky sounding noises.. basically.. was unplayable on my pc.. bah
DMGv3.5 wasn't very good either... they seem to have added a slight bit.. but.. not that much to make it worth buying.. so.. bah
Ooh.. and I got a quotation on my soul
Your soul is worth £24599. For your peace of mind, 39% of people have a purer soul than you.
That was just less than phee.. so.. bah

11th September 2003 14:39
Been shopping! Found a few forgotten realms books about Elminster .. woohoo!.. also bought a DMGv3.5 ... WooHoo!... aaaaaand.. went to pc world and bought a new game...
Pirates of the Caribbean! Arr! ... WOOHOO! .. Pirates rule!...
That is all.

8th September 2003 21:33
Well.. I think I've spent about 6 hours today playing warblade.. which is an evil game which takes over your brain and makes you play. However.. I think I roughly finished it now anyway... after making it to level 354 or something.. and reached the rank of Warblade Grandmaster.. I decided to call it a day... I think I might uninstall it.. before I play it again.. scary game..
Ooh, and played D&D last night.. wasn't quite as fun as the one where Melissa almost went crazy, but had fun still.. currently we're in some dungeon looking for some dead pirates body.. which we probly won't find, as we suspect he back from dead... mah

3rd September 2003 22:06
Well.. after checking mcphee's blog today.. and also Mark's just now.. we find that Mark indeed did intend for us to make a list of 5 guys we'd 'do' .. I thought that might have been what he meant in first place.. and.. I read it again.. but.. his blog still seemed to suggest to me that he meant girls just like he did :oP so.. meh!
Gave a bit of thought to it.. and.. in fairness.. I can't make a list of 5 guys I'd 'do'.. probably because there aren't as many as five :oP ... at any rate.. in the interest of not being a 'prude' .. following is the list of the 2 guys I'd consider... *shudder* doing ;o)

1) Spike from buffy the vampire slayer.. what can you say about Spike?... testosterone probly leaks out of him like sweat... err... if vampires sweat.. which.. I don't think they do.. so.. meh :op
2) Angel .. also from Buffy the vampire slayer.. strange really.. that two of the most attractive guys I'd consider are both from the same original show (although angel has his own show.. and it kicks ass.. speaking of which.. damn.. I should've put fred or cordy from that show in my list of 5 girls... bah)
That is all.. I'll now be cowering in a foetal position for a few minutes from all the non-prudishness ;o)
Oh.. and I like girls!.. I LIKE GIRLS!!! ... sorry.. natural response ;o)

2nd September 2003 17:09 - Arr!
I want to be a pirate! ... well.. not one of the nasty pirates.. I wanna be Jack Sparrow! (o:
Saw pirates of the caribbean today (in fact.. just before I came online here), and... it was great! Absolutely brilliant.. can see why everyone else who has seen it holds it in great regard.. one of the bits from the film I remember specifically I'll quote here.. cause it was just reeeally funny..
Pirate 1: They stole our ship!
Pirate 2: Bloody pirates!
Much giggling from me after that.. those two pirates were just funny.. definitely more of a comic interest than just nasty pirates.. one of them had a wooden eye.. and.. well.. they were funny.. even got in disguise wearing dresses! Now who would be silly enough to pull a stunt like that....
At any rate.. if you haven't seen pirates of the caribbean... see it.. 'nuff said

2nd September 2003... err.. as above: part 2
Also.. a fellow blogger, MarkA .. issued a challenge on his blog. That for some reason.. only gay guys and straight girls are willing to make lists of girls they would 'do'.. and.. well.. seemed fun ;o) .. So i'm taking up that challenge.
Bearing in mind.. that.. given the huge amount of people that could go on a list like this (I am still young and geeky.. ;o) .. well.. gonna limit it to five.. and.. they only really people that I can specifically remember seeing on telly recently.

1) Natalie Imbruglia (watched Johhny English last night.. and have fancied her ever since seeing video of torn)
2) Gail Porter (I don't even go for blondes usually.. but.. Gail's just special somehow)
3) Rachel Weisz (from the mummy films.. she just yummy)
4) Zhang Ziyi (from crouching tiger and rush hour 2.. she also yummy)
5) Emily Booth (aka Bouff, from Bits(I miss that show), and Outthere! .. what can I say.. grrrr! )

So completes my sordid little list ;o)

30th August 2003 00:57
Started playing NWN again yesterday.. ie...Thursday.. downloaded 3 new mods so far.. one of which was unplayable (which is annoying.. as it was about 30Mb+.. well.. I say unplayable.. it was just a Shadows of Undrentide version needed.. so I'll be able to play it once I get that.. but.. mah.. annoying when it wasn't clearly stated on the module description. The next.. was fairly short.. and.. well.. guess it was ok.. managed to gain a level in it.. taking Melissa from 15 to 16.. but.. other than that.. bit boring..
The final one.. which I been playing up to this point (until stopping.. after being annoyed) sounded pretty cool.. you were an assassin.. which is usally fun to be (well.. maybe not really but.. I don't play NWN to be real) ... aaaanyway... you were an assassin.. and.. the first job.. well.. killed someone this guy wanted killing.. he then proceeded to pay me 50 gold... I checked this.. twice.. thinking I may have mistakenly missed a 0... or two... but no.. 'twas 50.. in the dialog.. you even go .. "What?.. is this IT?" or some such.. but.. you didn't get chance to kill him! .. errr.. far be it from me to be an expert on assassins.. but.. I personally feel that assassins tend to get paid well, and quickly.. on account of non-payment would involve ripping the clients damn head off!... so I was very disappointed that you couldn't kill your cheap client.. which wasn't helped when the next one did it too.. promised 1000.. gave 100.. grrr.. thing is.. even later on in the game.. I'm still getting paid like.. 500 gold.. (and oddly the character seems to even think this is fairly good!) ... 500 gold?!.. I'm fighting my way through about 20 level 25 fighters, to reach an equally higher level end guy who I have to kill for a contract.. and.. I get 500 GOLD PIECES?!
Personally.. I'd move to a more profitable city.. after depopulating the current one.
The final straw which made me quit it for tonight.. was deciding.. bugger this.. I dont want to fight my way through all these level 25 fighters.. I'll just sneak past them.. but then I tried to open a couple of chests on the way.. which.. made the fighters all suddenly see I was there.. and 3 or so attack me.. WHY?! .. I'm a damn high level halfling thief.. I have a dexterity (with magic enhancement) of 32.. I have a cloak of elvenkind + other skill enhancing items.. I have a move silent of around 40 and a hide of around 50.. and yet.. apparently.. I can't quietly open a chest while they're not looking... sure.. you might think.. meh.. it kinda makes sense.. you're opening it right in front of them.. right?... well.. lets put this in perspective.. I most likely have a pickpocket skill of around 30ish too.. and.. a 20 is a success for a pickpocket.. (has to be opposed by a spot check... but.. the level 25 fighters dont have spot.. they get a +1 to the check just from wisdom.. and thats it).. so.. basically.. I could walk up behind these fighters.. without a chance of being seen.. and probably steal their underwear.. and they wouldn't notice.. but.. a nearby chest sitting behind them... err.. no.. as soon as it opens... they attack... grrrrrrrrrrrrrr...
Right now.. I'm gonna go to bed.. watch some red dwarf episodes.. then maybe a film on video.. while reading the second book in the farseer trilogy (finished the 1st earlier.. decided to start reading the first trilogy again.. and glad I did.. am enjoying it greatly.. didn't sleep til around half 5 last night.. as I was reading it in bed and couldn't sleep.. but... meh.. doesn't bother me.. can just get up at half 1 like the lazy git I am and still get 8 hours sleep.. )
So... thats been my night... tomorrow.. I'll be downloading an 80Mb NWN module in which I'll be a drow.. and if it's disappointing.. I wont be pleased... night night

25th August 2003 16:39
D&D was very fun last night.. if a little odd.. my character Melissa, spent most of the session in a severe state of paranoia, after seeing what appeared to be a pirate morph into Adamar (another party member) .. didn't trust adamar after that.. thinking he not the real one.. and then more stuff happened.. like.. the guy we were meeting didn't know what name I'd been given to meet.. and in her state.. melissa decided to use it as kinda a password.. and when he didn't give it.. well.. her paranoia just got worse.. everyone else who was there seemed to think she'd gone insane and killed everyone else or summat.. it.. was just weird ;o)
but definitely fun (o:

23rd August 2003 22:30
watched 3 hours of yugioh earlier.. was fun.. will watch 3 more hours tomorrow..
err...
bye

9th August 2003 20:27

Finished a NWN mod earlier.. called Trial of Spirit.. and it was very very good.. one of best I've played.. spent ages playing it.. so woo!
Err.. can't think of much else to put.. so meh

5th August 2003 19:45 Names?
Sometimes I worry about all the stuff that seems to lead out of my memory.. like.. people's names.. early.. after Bowch brought it up.. couldn't remember Pixies last name.. or phees.. or mojos first or last name.. worrying really.. couldnt remember who Finalstryke was either...bah..

2nd August 2003 15:21
Been shopping.. bought 3 more stackable modular dvd holder thingies.. as my other 3 were full.. well.. 2 are full.. the third is the one for ps2 games and that only halfish full.. but that seperate from other two.. which hold my pc games.. I seperated the dvd's I had from the games now.. so got a completely seperate bit ... ho hum..
And bought a lot of second hand books.. as well as popping into the rpg type shop.. where I got a munchkin players handbook.. and a couple of yugioh booster packs.. (see.. addictive .. but.. they had a couple of nice cards Ill put in my decks to surprise Gaz.. hehe ;o)
Thats about it.. still waiting for a char sheet from Gaz, so I can plan him an adventure tomorrow.. but not here yet.. so.. feh

31st July 2003 17:07
Woohoooo! Got our Uni results back in post today (o:
I got.. A, A-, A-, A-, A-, B-, C+, C+ .. woohoo! that deffo a pass ;o)
Also got a Fm.. which a marginal fail... but that's because it was an optional module.. and I knew I'd passed everything else.. so thought.. feh, and just didn't do any revision for the exam.. turned up and wrote crap for about 25 minutes then buggered off ;o)
Least I put some effort in.. my mate Neil just didn't turn up for the exam .. hehe
So anyway... woohoo! I be all clever like .. one of those really clever people who they put in swimming pools and put metal helmets with all those neon tubes in on their heads, so they can see what people are thinking and tell the government when you've been eating too much chocolate, so they can send the chocolate squad round to your house with the electrowhips... or something like that anyway

30th July 2003 21:56
Mwahahahahahahaha!

28th July 2003 23:34
Feh.. I been missing blogs... but.. feh.. I don't care! (o;
Enjoyed D&D with phee.. although pix seemed to get a bit annoyed at me which never nice.. sniffle.. also afterwards had a match of yugioh with Gaz (winning I might add ;o)
Added a link to Mark's blog up on the.. linky bit up at top.. Mark is the new addition to our D&D group.. don't really know him too well, but we did share a room at last pubmeet.. or was it the one before that.. feh, my memory shot.. at any rate.. about all I can really remember was one night were we were both in the room.. and talking about decorating his flat.. dunno why .. hehe... seem to recall I gave him some advice about curtains and wallpaper.. weird ;)

24th July 2003 20:51
Meh... more ff tactics.. finished reading the halflings gem.. and made a lift (out of pringle tube) for building.. and added a little .. building thingy on top of another building... feh, can't be bothered writing more..

23rd July 2003 21:29
Was just about to do todays blog.. when noticed that the dates didn't match.. feh, I'd missed a blog from a coupla days ago... I'd ended up getting cut off just as I was posting it.. so it obviously didn't get through.. shrug..
Anyway... today has consisted of more playing final fantasy tactics.. which is a pretty good game.. had a few quibbles.. but I figured how the random combat works now at least.. the level of your opponents is always the level of your highest level character... so now I figured that, makes it easier to level up my characters.. simply by not including the highest level guy in any of the battles until they all roughly catch up..
Anyway.. might go do more glueing of buildings together.. the main shape (cardboard floor levels and pringle tube support beams) is made.. so I just need to add some stairs or stuff so peeps can get to one level from another...

22nd July 2003 16:31
Wooohooo, final fantasy tactics finally arrived today (o:
After the panic of trying to copy the damn thing to an image file (luckily, my cdwriter could read on the 96 byte channel.. (was well panicced when it kept not working when trying to copy from my dvd one).. then after that, game wasn't quite perfect on the emulator.. wasn't any sound on the movies, and the map screen kinda kept blacking out.. but after a check on a few websites.. altered to config to some specific settings, and now it plays the sound on movies and map screen stays up (although it does collect a bit of garbage.. sometimes when I stop the cursor, it leaves a shadow of it behind.. but it vanishes after a while..)
As to whether I really get into the game and enjoy it.. well.. may have to see.. currently I'm just trying to get used to it ;) .. last save was on the start of the third battle.. so will see how I do in that... after I check my daily comics (I added another a few days ago .. hehe.. just keeps mounting up.. )
I also just finished reading the crystal shard a hour or so ago.. after watching the carebears movie 2.. (feh, I used to like em when I was a kid) .. but discovered that the world has made me a bit too cynical for all this 'caring' malarkey.. might do a bit more model building too.. started work yesterday on some cool necromunda buildings using cardboard and (lots of) pringle tubes.. looking alright so far.. yay

21st July 2003 ?
Err... I don't remember what happened on this day.. I do remember that I'd wrote something... but then I got cut off internet just as this page was being saved.. and obviously by the next day I forgot and so now I don't know :op

20th July 2003 22:41
Heheh, had great fun today... played some age of wonders... and started my own campaign in D&D.. im running people with first level characters through solo adventures to get them to level two.. and after everyones solo adventure.. they all key in together with the proper campaign (whenever that starts)... was brilliant fun (o:

19th July 2003 12:21
Well.. last night was brilliant (o: played yugioh with gaz on irc for about 5 hours .. hehe.. decided it would be nice to have a way of checking what cards are in play or what our life points are... so I've thrown together a Yu-Gi-Oh bot for use in our duels.. doesn't do everything or owt, but at least shows us some of the cards that there...
Will show it gaz later, and hope he likes it.. I think it's alright personally ;o)
and no.. still no final fantasy tactics...bah.. but hopefully on monday ;)
well.. now the script done.. I'm off to play some games..

18th July 2003 17:08
Well.. still no final fantasy tactics.. got email from the guy.. he recieved cheque on tuesday.. and is still waiting for it to clear.. feh.. I want it now!.. finished reading book two of moonshae trilogy.. might reread book 3 (which I read before.. but.. can't remember much of it) or I might start on the crystal shard.. cause... well.. Drizzt much more cooler :oP
Will have to see

17th July 2003 13:26
Woooohooooo!
Sadly.. that's not a woohoo my final fantasy tactics game arrived, but it's a woohoo I went down to town and bought some cool stuff!.. firstly.. popped into woolworths.. bought a couple of dvd's.. and found they were selling labyrinth of nightmare booster packs for yugioh.. woo.. so got two of those too, which had some ok cards in then, some which I reckon I'll try in my main decks.
Then.. the best bit.. went to help the aged (first time for a while.. they were redecorating the store last few weeks.. ).. what did I see on the rotatey book standy thing.. forgotten realms books!.. and dark sun books!.. and dragonlance books!.. and even a birthright book!.. 31 of them!.. at 69p each!.. wooooohooooooo!
Had to catch bus home, because the carrier bag with 31 books in it nearly cut off my fingers just walking the short distance back to bus station.. oh, and got an old ultimate game and a warhammer 40k book in oxfam.. been a good day so far (o:

16th July 2003 17:59
Nearly finished new NWN mod I was playing... played more shining force... and finished my bloodthirster finally (o: you can see some (very bad) pictures of it here.. they capture its big nastiness.. just not much detail :oP
Bloodthirster Front
Bloodthirster Back
Woohoo!

15th July 2003 20:12
Played NWN for first time in a good while again.. finished a module I started ages ago.. ending was a bit rubbish tho.. well.. some of it was alright.. but.. towards end.. it was a bit confusing what was going on and/or what to do.. and then.. to top it all off.. the great reward that I fought through hours and hours of play for..? 3000 gold and an amulet.. that glows white.. thats it :oP .. I mean.. god.. I pick up better stuff off a single corpse or summat :oP .. an interesting magic item would have been better... ah well... played a little shining force 2 as well.. mainly I'm just trying to stall until my precious final fantasy tactics game arrives )o:
On a plus side, Gaz will probly be happy to hear I got an email earlier saying his decks have been posted.. so he'll get them eventually.. I just hope I get my game tomorrow too )o:

14th July 2003 17:00
Played three more games of yugioh.. kaiba won third match, pegasus won 4th in straight victory. Altered both of their decks a little, took out some less useful cards, and switched a few from kaiba's to pegasus'... now they both got smaller decks, and hopefully a little more effective.

13th July 2003 23:48
Eeep, nearly forgot to write (o: just finished D&D.. and it was brilliant.. phee really shouldn't have worried... he did it extremely well, and it was fun to play... although I kept say him or he.. instead of her or she for melissa.. feh, too used to playing Jarke...

12th July 2003 21:23
Wooohooo, very nearly Sunday.. still really looking forward to it.. spent some of today playing yugioh against myself.. it's quite fun to duel yourself actually (o;
Ooh, and just finished Domes of Fire, book one of the tamuli.. so going to read the shining ones next.. only 2 books to go before series finished.. yay

11th July 2003 22:32
Almost forgot to blog.. whoops.. well.. what happened today.. ate a yucky chinese meal.. wont be eating that again.. called my mates and arranged to go out playing football on Sunday afternoon... found that gaz's cards wouldnt turn up til at least next week.. that roughly it.. quick one tonight

10th July 2003 18:30
Phew... still hot.. why can't stupid weather make it's mind up.. just when it was being all nice and cool and everything... did some more D&D programming.. added the rogue feats and equipment.. will probably go onto bard or something next.. although that's when I'll have to start adding spells too.. bah.. will complicate it even more..
It's almost Sunday too.. when the new D&D campaign begins.. and I'm really looking forward to playing my new thief melissa.. who knows what trouble she'll end up causing (o;

9th July 2003 18:19
Played a little more NWN.. but got a bit annoyed with the mod I was playing, so quit it again.. may finish it tomorrow.. dunno.. worked more on D&D program too.. now it can handle the armour classes and feats.. but I need to actually add all the equipment to the equipment allocator.. which going to take ages.. took me plenty of time just to do the barbarian one last night.. it's not really hard, just ended up taking time.. so.. will get that done eventually.. then will move onto attacks.. Oh, and painted a little more.. ho humm..

8th July 2003 21:34
Well, currently watching Dr No on telly.. then will watch Fawlty towers, then Graham Norton.. not a terrible night of telly really (o: Just finished reading the ruby knight, so will go onto the sapphire rose tomorrow (or tonight if I feel like it). Been working a bit more on a java program I started a fair while ago, which lets me generate NPC's for use in making adventures or some stuff.. I considered making it more complex, but.. meh, I decided it would be pointless making it do everything I wanted, as all I really wanted from it at the moment was a way to easily generate NPC's, not generate multiclassed pc's with variable equipment and everything.. might do a bit more work on it later tonight, now I finished reading.. was just at the point where it was getting into some of the more complex stats.. like armour class and attacks.. these are more complex cause of the simple fact that they are altered by equipment and feats and so forth.. which of course can make it much harder to program.. the next thing I'm really onto is some kind of level and class based equipment list, which won't be really complex.. I'm not going to bother with +1 flaming holy avenger swords or anything like that.. as if I add tons of variable abilities for magic stuff.. it'd just rocket out of proportion.. all I'm going to probably use is say.. masterwork swords for level 3 to 5.. +1 for 6-8.. +2 for 9-.. you get the idea.. I'll take the standard weapons and equipment from the back of the DM guide most likely.. it's a pretty good measure of the kind of stuff to give them.. then, once the armour and stuff has been generated, a proper ac can be made. Attacks however will have to wait until I do a feat list, as many feats alter attack, whereas only a few alter AC (and only really indirectly.. dodge is a circumstancial one)
That's pretty much it really... still waiting anxiously for my yugioh cards to arrive ;)

7th July 2003 19:28
Well.. a couple of the NWN modules I got weren't very good.. one I ended up quitting after a while cause it had this annoying maze thingy.. took at least 5 minutes to run through it.. then at the end of it.. it's just a locked door.. which couldn't be bashed.. so presumably needed a key... but that little consolation after all that... so just quit it right there.. stupid thing.. if it had a point, I wouldn't have minded.. but.. there wasn't any.. there were no traps in it, no monsters.. nothing.. it was just a pointless little way of making you spend a ton of time walking around aimlessly.. and couldn't be having with that.. next one was a thief based one.. and feh, having played it for about 10 minutes, I then find out the thief needed pickpocket skill.. which I hadn't got.. so.. feh I thought.. that's wrong really, should've catered for different kinds of thieves.. personally I'd have just bashed the guard in and took the key.. but the module had weird rules like you lose if you kill someone in view of public.. so... meh..
Watched lost in space earlier .. was alright, haven't seen it for a while. I quite like the film, although I guess it's hardly the best ever .. and finished reading the Diamond Throne, the first of the sparhawk books, which I now reckon is Eddings best series.. have to admit.. I liked the Belgariad.. but.. having tried to read it again, I failed miserably.. just found it a bit boring really.. whereas the sparhawk ones seem to just be able to re-read a lot easier.. and as Pixie said, Sparhawk is just cooler than Belgarion..
Later on, I'm gonna start reading the ruby knight.. should probably have that done by tomorrow if I stick to it.. and.. as I don't have much else to do.. probably will.. although I do now have the option to do a little painting, as I finally cleared the terrain board and sand off my floor so that the painting table can be wheeled over to my chair.. will have to finish painting my bloodthirster (big demon) sometime.. and my new chaos dragon (two headed gribbly dragon).

6th July 2003 23:05
Downloaded another 9 NWN modules today, as yesterdays were mostly rubbish )o: Some were kinda alright, true.. it was nice to have a wander round ankh morpork and meet up with some of the characters.. but.. it didn't really seem to catch the theme of it well... and plus it was virtually all hack and slash.. I was hoping for more rp'ing in it )o: .. can't even remember some of others.. so mah.. tried a couple of ones I got today already though.. and one I just finished was good, called Black Ring Pox or summat.. you end up catching a disease and have to find the antidote (and ingredients for it).. was quite fun really.. and ended up gaining Ellenor another fighter level.. so woo..she also earned another from other module.. called... err... something.. it was alright that one.. not quite as fun as other one though.. but at any rate, she level 16 now.. so soon she'll be on par with Jonathan!... well.. not really.. cause Jonathan's much cooler.. but .. mah.. took her down a slightly different route too.. she's got bow skills if she actually needs them (true.. I haven't had her use one yet.. but.. meh) .. whereas Jonathan ... err.. not sure why he didn't get them actually.. oh.. wait, yeah I am.. as a maxed 20 fighter, she'll have another feat over a wizard if I'm thinking it right.. and because Jonathan had to get exotic proficiencies.. that's where his feats went into..
Oooh, and started another fighter too.. an elf one this time.. dexterity of 20.. going for the weapon finesse rapier and longbow route with that one.. which seems alright so far.. oh.. and ended up winning an auction for all 4 of the yu-gi-oh starter decks on eBay.. with the idea of giving them to gaz at pubmeet.. although.. if he don't want them.. I'll just keep them all to myself ;o) heheh.. I'm so sneaky and clever..

5th July 2003 16:51
Downloaded about 5 more NWN modules this morning, and started one which is monk related.. so been playing it with Melanie my new monk, as she finished the harpers tale one..
Been reading more Wyrd Sisters too.. about halfway through currently.. and just really wondering where everyone has got to :oP Haven't seen Pixie or Gaz for about two days.. feh.. might watch Lost in space later.. will see..

4th July 2003 17:20
Just finished reading Jingo.. so now I think I'll go back to reading wyrd sisters or summat.. might even try to do a bit of painting either tonight or tomorrow.. but that involves clearing all the rubbish and junk off the floor.. as it's in between the tabley thing on wheels that holds all my paints and models.. and my chair.. so.. feh.. too much effort if you ask me.. mumble..that's about it really... not been an exciting day up to now..
Ooh, actually.. just remembered... I made another couple of screenshots of NWN
Jonathan - "Ooer, I knew I shouldn't have touched those strange mushrooms"
Melanie(new Monk) - Shocking!

3rd July 2003 22:58
A late one today... well.. what's been happening?... I watched Men in Black 2 on dvd, along with a bit on the bonus dvd, bloopers (funny), making of MIB:2 (not really funny.. quite boring). Also went down town and bought another kaiba deck.. and popped a cheque in post to buy a joey and pegasus starter deck that probly imported from america... told you I'd get addicted.. but.. seriously.. I'm gonna try keep that as it.. although.. I wouldn't mind having a third blue-eyes white dragon... hmm... will see ;o)
Currently I'm watching Graham Norton, and feeling a little sorry for myself, as I have a tummy ache.. after graham finished.. I might go off to bed, read some more Jingo, and watch X-men again.. meh..
Oh, and played more NWN, gave up on current one I'd been playign which was a 3rd edition module translated to nwn.. but.. mah, it wasn't very good/exciting.. so I quit it.. now started one called a Harpers Tale or summat.. which seems alright.. had to start a new level 1 char, so trying out a monk this time.. seems to be going alright so far.

2nd July 2003 16:34
Today been busy so far.. said I was going to local corner shop (to see if they sold Yugioh cards.. meh, I'm addicted.. aaaanyway, mum then said, oh.. well do you fancy going up to far laund shop and picking up my papers? (which up a fairly big hill) but.. meh, said yeah.. trying to excercise more anyway.. that was part reason of corner shop thing anyway.. well.. went to corner shop.. (no ygo cards )o: ).. then went up to other shop and got papers.. and thought.. meh.. I've already climbed fairly big hill, may as well climb a bit more back in another way and go down into belper.. (it's down because its on the other side of the hill) ... so had a shop round there.. ended up getting MIB 2 and Lost in Space on dvd.. and x-men on vcr for £3 or summat.. which was good.. been wanting to see X-men again for aaaaages but it never seems on on sky no more.. feh.. oh.. and discovered woolworths have got in some kaiba decks instead of just yugi ones.. so.. bought one.. wheeeeee.. got me a blue-eyes white dragon (raaar!) .. then went to oxfam and bought 5 books or so.. eddings and stuff.. that.. well.. I have but.. its 79p... 79p!.. meh, I just collect books..
At any rate, I've now been back home for a while.. bout half an hour.. and now I don't really feel like I'm dying anymore.. (stupid hills) ... so might go upstairs and watch x-men.. wooohooo....oooh, and even better.. read some more of my discworld book.. I was wrong! I do have another I haven't read (o: It was hidden behind.. well.. another discworld book.. so now reading Jingo.. hmm.. not really much more to say..
Except for looking forward to November pubmeet.. gonna duel gaz.. wheeeee.. me wanna use my blue-eyes.. and my dark magician... I think I might actually be sad and do some research before I go.. into all the names of the attacks of the cards .. so I can scream them out in battle.. like gaz is going to do most likely (o: yugioh rocks.

1st July 2003 19:36
Finished the necromancer mod I started in NWN ages ago.. was pretty good.. ended up finding I was the son of some evil god and then I killed my mother as a test of allegiance to him.. which was nice... well.. not nice nice.. but.. meh, I know what I mean. Also discovered summat weird.. a video I'd taped in other video in my mums room.. when I played it on my video.. has a completely different sound and voices to it.. seems to be voices from previous show or recording etc.. might just be a problem with that specific tape.. was just weird tho... it plays back fine on mums video tho... so.. weirdness..
Just finished reading another discworld novel too, Carpe Jugulum.. which involved the witches.. which I'm actually really fond of now.. first one with them in I read.. which I think must be wyrd sisters.. I don't seem to recall finding them that great.. but they've just grown on me a I guess... my fave char is still probably Death though.. but.. mah, he's just brilliant (o: Only problem now is that I've run out of discworld books to read )o: Might start either a) reading summat else.. or b) start reading some old discworld books again... maybe wyrd sisters now that I know the chars better... hmm.. will have to see.

30th June 2003 21:37
Discovered two new comics to read today.. ones called Cascade Failure, and seemed alright, but sadly only updated sporadicly so not amazing.. but mah.. other was called the shokora diaries.. and.. well.. it weird I guess (o: .. its about some girl who everyone avoids cause she see's this little girl who no-one else can see.. except for this guy who can also see her.. and.. they get together.. and.. dunno what else.. that's as far as I've got ;o) .. it don't seem too bad tho, made me laugh a coupla times.. will probly start following it.. I'm starting to amass a larger and larger amount of webcomics that I check up on.. already I think it tends to take me half an hour to check all my stuff daily.. but that includes rockstar turns and stuff.. so mah

29th June 2003 22:55
Well, just finished Pixie's campaign, which was fun.. hopefully Jarke will have levelled up too.. so next fortnight will be starting phee's.. yay! .. be nice (o:

28th June 2003 16:03
Well, just finished eating chicken nuggets... mmmmmm, and also watched all 31 movies of a show called the Happy Tree Friends.. which is hilarious.. sick, and twisted.. yes.. but still funny.. I recommend you all to go check it out (o:
Happy Tree Friends
That is all

27th June 2003 15:19
Feh, just finished a game I bought from Oxfam called Fable.. it's kinda based a little like simon the sorceror, only not as good.. and.. feh, it had a reeeeeally rubbish ending... so much so, that when it was released in the USA, they made the designers give it a proper ending.. so.. if you ever really need to play it, I recommend the american version... all being said, it wasn't a terrible game really, the ending really let it down..
My chest is feeling a little better.. but.. still not perfectly right.. I'm probly off to doctors tomorrow, assuming it hasn't cleared up by then.. dunno what it might be.. just hopefully not something terminal )o:

26th June 2003 09:28
Well, managed at least to get 8 hours sleep last night.. woke up about 8:20.. just in time for yugioh! on sky one .. hehe... although.. I've now found out that it's exactly the same one that's on at 5 later in afternoon... but mah, I probly wouldn't have gotten to watch that one anyway.. thinking of starting to play worldwide edition yugioh which gaz gave me.. I had a quick try of it yesterday, and.. I suppose it wasn't all that bad... seemed to have a hugely different pace... but I suppose I'd just need to get used to it.. also think I'm gonna have a walk down into town later today.. where I think I'm going to end up buying more yugioh cards... I think gaz has gone and got me well and truly hooked.. git.. I used to collect premier league stickers in school.. I know how damn expensive it is trying to collect these kind of things... mumble mumble..
Think I may have corrupted the quick save I was using for some NWN thief module too.. the game seemed to be really hanging up at the time.. sound had got stuck and was looping.. probly because of the lots of effects that were in the area at the time.. and silly me.. me tried to use the quicksave.. when I should have tried using a normal additional save slot.. so I wouldn't lose anything if it buggered... which it did.. had to reboot pc after it hung near the end of save... as to whether it partially overwrote the old save.. or whether it doesn't do owt til it complete.. will find out when I try to load it.. might be old save.. might not be lucky.. but mah..
12:17 - Well.. think I near died walking all up that big hill on way home.. feh.. but got some ok stuff.. £20 for 3 dvd's to watch later... and some books I found... and also cleared up the problem of collecting yugioh cards.. as I now won't be ;oP .. I refuse to collect a stupid game where the cards in packs aren't even really randomised properly.. for a start.. the other starter deck I bought (just to try to get gaz to have a game at pubmeet ;o) contained the exact same cards as other one... hmm.. well, it'll make the duel at meet fair anyway ;o) .. tried a couple of cheap booster packs too.. which had quite rubbish cards in to be honest .. and.. again.. hardly random.. only 2 of the cards were any different ... so.. I think I'll stick to the computer games.. much easier ;o)

25th June 2003 10:12
Well.. last night didn't go exactly to plan... in that, well.. didn't really get any sleep.. which was bad.. although.. I don't really feel that tired cause of it, so not too bad.. although stomach feeling a little iffy... but mah.. ended up I couldn't get to sleep because I had some weird pain kinda.. just below my left lung or summat.. looks ever so slightly bumpy when I inspected it this morning.. so suspecting I may have innocently bumped it and not noticed til I went to bed.. it's fine when I'm sitting up like I am now.. but pretty much as soon as I lay down last night.. just kept niggling at me.. and also made it almost impossibly uncomfortable to turn over onto my sides.. which I really need if I wanna get to sleep properly.. so... no luck for me really )o:
As an aside though, I did finish off reading two pratchett books last night.. pyramids and lords and ladies, so wasn't all bad (o: and watched Mission Impossible 2, two Men Behaving Badly videos, and The World is Not Enough.. so.. woo
And hopefully in a short time this little bump thing will have fixed itself in the usual nice way that bodies work .. hehe

24th June 2003 03:22
Well.. obviously buying that deck of duelling cards today (or yesterday if you will) must have put me in a duelling kinda mood (o: Think I just spent around 3 and a half hours duelling in my yugioh! game.. I'm very near to my goal of beating all the opponents and collecting all their cards now... I'm in the finals of the national championship.. just got about 5 days of duelling to go before the final comes around.. once I beat that, I can unlock the last two duellers.. and then their decks.. wheeee... not really added many cards to my deck for a good while though.. it rocks as it is (o:
Oooh, and something occured to me earlier.. Gaz, if you reading this.. buy a starter deck yourself.. then we could have a match at bpool.. hehe, would be fun.. and could play using the nice mats (well.. nice in a .. bit of soft card kinda way).. go on... go on go on go on go on.. hehe .. be summat to do anyway... well.. other than endless console game playing.. and D&D (hopefully).. oh, and some people even talk about quest and stuff.. strange, mad, people..
Well... that's enough for me for now.. it's getting a little late, and I want to go to bed so I can finish reading my Shadowrun book and finish watching goldeneye (which I started watching last night) .. til tomorrow (today.. whatever)
19:16 - Well, just finished the yugioh game, the Eternal Duellist.. got all the cards I'd been trying for off my list.. and unlocked and beat every single opponent in the game... wooooohoooo! My deck absolutely rocked by the end of it.. was virtually unbeatable .. hehe.. which is good (o:

23rd June 2003 21:30
Well, just watched fawlty towers and finished the master system game mickey mouse and the land of illusion.. which was fun, used to have it on original console, so it brought back some memories (o: .. my nwn female fighter currently at about 9th level... so coming along alright (o:
Bought myself a lens cleaning cd earlier today too, so gonna try that out on my ps2 in hopes it'll solve any of the dsic reading problems it'd been having... woohoo! will see..
Also.. I bought (on impulse) a yugioh! start deck from woolworths while I got my cleaning cd.. gaz would probably understand why I got it.. but mah.. £7 down drain just for some cards.. hehe.. me silly

22nd June 2003 17:14
More neverwinter... trying to get a higher level female fighter for some more female orientated modules... feh.. can't be bothered to write more.. tired.. got woke up at damn 9:30 again this morning.. grr.. silly mum always being noisy..

21st June 2003 18:46
Feh, I hate civ 3 again... after all that extra playing, find that I can't launch my cool space rocket cause I already finished via another victory.. which annoying, cause it's not like I had a say in it.. cultural victory just happens when your culture really good and cool.. its like your being punished. because your civilization is good!... grrr... but anyway, made myself feel a bit better by nuking the germans before I quit for final time.. sigh... made a couple of new screenshots of neverwinter too.. one of Jarke.. meant to be my albino sorceror for our fortnightly D&D games.. but.. feh, robes aint robey enough for me.. and.. he ain't white enough.. damn those limited palettes... anyway.. here's the links.. oh, and other of Jonathan with his new armour and swords.. aren't they fancy and glowy ;o) ... and don't he look cool in that combat pose.. he just killed that guy.. don't worry.. he was evil.. he deserved it ;o)
Jarke
Jonathan

Oh.. and also discovered that female fighters in neverwinter look really good in tight armour... I think the developers must have spent weeks working on that bum wiggle... it was worth it ;o)

20th June 2003 17:36
Another friday, another chips and kebab night.. woo, can't wait ;o)
Finished playing the Neverwinter module I was on, called Rune (Subliminal Darkness).. err.. was pretty much a hackfest still :oP I might just stick tolower level mods.. they tend to have more chance of having a decent plot... also... last night (and some of this morning) I was a bit bored.. so decided I might try make a nice set of custom items for my fighter to use (o: .. so now both his blades all nice and glowing white .. hehe.. I dunno if I'll use him in mods particularly though.. as one of the items in particular (Amulet of the Golem) makes him a wee bit tougher.. (hehe, it grants wearer protection as if an adamantine golem.. +5/30 damage resist.. ouch ;o) .. will depend if I'm playing a mod purely for plot or whether I actually wanna enjoy just fighting things that can actually scratch me (and they usually not that great at it now.. and that's with normal powerful items ;o) .. actually.. other thing to simply do would be to not use amulet.. then the character pretty much the same as he was before (the item's aren't god-like good.. just a little tidier.. such as.. instead of having abiout three items each giving +3 or +4 to strength.. just got a single belt that adds 9.. makes it neater really.. ) or.. actually.. I might right now just make another amulet.. one that just has some nice handy abilities but nothing as powerful as huge damage reduction.. that probably the easier way, as I could then just switch between amulets.. depending on whether I wanna be invincible (o:
17:52 - Well, just updated the little module I made that has Bob the Merchant in it.. and gave him a new Amulet of the Lesser Golem. This one just has +5/10 protection, which I used to have on character's old armour.. also provides a bit of light and a slight boost to saves.. so that's much more balanced really (o: .. just have to send char in to buy it now.. which is bye bye to another 500k+ of gold.. (hehe, well.. if you're buying nice custom items.. decided it only fair to pay about 5 times price of item.. which about 120k normally.. only got about 6 or 5 million left now if I recall.. ah well.. will have to adventure more and make it back up to 12 ;o)

19th June 2003 20:08
Eww, had a nasty start to today... after my late night (went to bed around 3:30ish) I (as usual with hot weather currently) found it hard to get to sleep.. reckon I finally got to sleep around 5... then... I get woke up at 9 o clock to the lovely sound of hammering, banging and electric cutty noises... sodding neighbour was having new boiler fitted... grrr... was right cranky for all morning... but made it a little better when mum didn't go to work and so we went off to Derby... got my Griever necklace sorted with a new ringy bit so that it will hang from the chain better.. and got a ton of books (o: I love books, and I pretty much collect them just for the sake of having them, although I do read some of them ;o)
Also just found out some good news... checked out Gaz's site.. and heard that they making a yugioh pc game! Yay! And it will support online duelling! JOY! (o: .. have to agree with Gaz, in that it will be on my to-buy list when it comes out... and maybe me get to finally have a nice friendly(translation-competetive) duel.. hehe.. if it supports online duelling.. will probly support card trading online too.. so maybe be able to bet cards and stuff on matches... like really cool duellers ;o) Hehehehe... really can't wait for that game.
I have also discovered that most of the higher level based adventure mods for NWN seem to be purely hack and slash )o: Only really good one I've found that had great story was the Call for Heroes mod.. I'm looking forward to the fourth one coming out.. should be brilliant.. it's also the end of the series.
Been playing more civ 3 too.. civ's coming along nicely now.. I finished the game technically.. in that the germans finally decided I was great and so I won by cultural victory... but feh, I'm playing past it.. me wanna make a big civilization and then an even bigger space rocket.. hehe... and still haven't even settled the entire continent... and only got 3 villages on the other continent (which smaller anyway)... feh, wish I had coal.. it's annoying.. me wanna build lots of train tracks.. sniffle... but thankfully, after all the recycling stations and solar plants I made and stuff, pollution isn't as bad any more.. usually only 1 or 2 a turn now.. which is much easier to handle.. well.. think that's enough info for now.. time to do my rockstar turns and then go off to play more games or summat

18th June 2003 21:00
Well, more neverwinterage for me today so far.. started some other mods... but in fairness... most of them have been really rubbish )o: They all seem to be mostly just hack fests.. which.. I'm just not that fond of.. also just tried a mod called Bastion of Broken Souls... which is a NWN version of a d20 mod I bought fairly recently... and it was awful... absolutely awful... the creator should've been shot.. seriously.. it was butchered... I just personally can't figure out how someone can make such a huge mess out of it.. considering they had the module all written out in d20 format beforehand! They don't even have to change any of it.. just convert to neverwinter.... but as it was.. although the similarity was in that the enemies are the ones from the mod.. there's... just no dialogue whatsoever really.. I think all the time I played it.. (and I was fairly close to end before I just shut it in disgust) I heard maybe... 3 tiny paragraphs of dialogue... when you met with people who you should've had a better chance to talk to.. they either attacked nearly immediatly.. or were already hostile... feh... just annoyed me, as I thought it was an ok mod in real life... bah... may have to try necromancer from my earlier save later tonight.. or maybe civ 3.. although I was getting a little bored of that too.. its not fun having to clear up about 3 or 4 pollutions a turn :oP I had to actually set up a kind of instant response pollution squad for each city ... every large city now has like.. 2 or 3 workers just waiting around in it.. for when they inevitable pollution comes they can clear it in 1 or 2 turns... feh, it's just getting dodgy.. I'm nearer (about 3 turns) to getting recycling as a civ advance, but still might not hugely help... then 4 turns after that I get ecology or summat, which stops pollution more... just hope they cut it down enough before I go insane :oP
Ooh.. and I had another bug in a neverwinter char too... one of my magic bags when attempted to open.. just.. crashed the game... this panicked me as it seemed to happen with all 2 of my currently saved Jonathans.. (I'd deleted the other last 4 or so to clear up room again)... I just ended up dropping the bag on the ground and scarpering from it really .. hope that don't happen again... hmm.. speaking of which.. I think I'll make copies of my char files right now for safekeeping... and on another thought, which I decided to check earlier after noticing summat.. I decided to have a quick looksie what char level Jonathan would be at if NWN supported epic levels (which it should! :o) and apparently.. Jonathan should be level 35 .. hehe.. well.. that's what you get when you've killed as many dragons/demons/would be gods as he has.. he's also been married 3 times.. (still is come to think of it.. eeep.. that maybe against law ;o)... but.. obviously in different mods.. saved evermeet just earlier today from a powerful mindflayer type demi-god that had been sleeping under evermeet (kinda cthulu based).. he's known as Wu Jan's Fury (and married to her.. technically making him king of Great Platicus..a planar realm, feared (by his enemies) and loved (by his friends) across the planes ... oh, and damn.. me wanna be him ;o) ... mind you.. wouldn't want to have to clean up all the blood/ichor/slime/acid off his armour every night.. ewww

17th June 2003 22:34
Had a busy day of playing more Necromancer in neverwinter.. but I've had to stop now, as my quicksave has corrupted it seems.. my character is unable to change anything in his inventory or something.. and it's really buggering the game up, so may have to restart from an earlier save.. bye bye 1 hour of playing.. feh

16th June 2003 18:47
Finished off th Penultima campaign just this morning.. was a very fun campaign.. even ended up getting married in it ;o) ... again .. hehe.. also kinda married to Wu Jan, and so technically king of a planar realm.. but mah (o:
Started another module this morning too... called Necromancer.. its similar to the Bone Kenning one, in that your a necromancer, and get to summon up undead and other fun stuff ;o) It's at a little annoying bit now though, as I've been kinda taken as an apprentice by this liche.. and.. well.. he's a right annoying arrogant git.. can't wait till I get to leave him (or kill him, but maybe not, he very powerful). May play a bit more civ 3 later, put it kinda back a bit since I got back into neverwinter.. but I'll have to finish my civilization this time (o:
00:48 - Hehe, just had a great 6 hours playing civ 3.. been advancing my civilization a lot.. and I finally almost cleared up all the damn jungle! Although... it's now reaching the stage were I have to get 3 or 4 workers plod over to clear up some polution every few turns.. bah.. and another annoying thing.. there's no coal on the continent.. that's right, the continent thats reeeeally huge and I still haven't got close to settling all of it.. and.. not a single piece of coal... in the same was.. I've only got the one source of iron, and there's a single horse way up in north east that I'm still nowhere near getting.. it's just really silly... it's as if the resource to map ration just hasn't scaled right for huge maps.. I mean.. I've found more resources on tiny maps! So unless there is any on another continent (which I'm only just shipping over a settler too).. no railroads or owt for me.. and.. probly won't be able to get steel (I'm assuming need coal for the furnaces and all)... so.. that'd really bugger me up pretty much... bah :oP

15th June 2003 22:48
Today been very fun (o: Played neverwinter all day til about 6:30.. been playing a new campaign called Penultima.. and it's very very good.. have to recommend. At 6:30.. had to stop that to play D&D with mates online, and it's been a very interesting session.. hehe... had to infiltrate a barons castle and kill him (he was really a doppelganger) and.. well.. we didn't really manage the sneaky bit quite right.. although.. Jarke did end up disguised as a maid (don't ask) and then sacrificed myself for the party (woo) but luckily.. I didn't die, only got knocked out.. as I also did later, when I tried a dodgy crystal ball and it tried to take over my mind. Woooo!

14th June 2003 15:57 Saturday the err.. 14th
Whoohah! Take that you Germans!.. hehe, Emperor Fluffy has had a resounding victory against the Germans when they (as I've moaned about before) attacked for no reason whatsoever other than having slightly more troops than me at the time.. of course, an intelligent player would have realised that I have more cities than them, my culture is huge, and that unlike theirs, my cities were all on 6+ size.. with a lot on 12... oh.. and I had 10,000 gold in my treasury... but no.. they still attack.. with their archers and warriors :oP So.. while I may only have a single pikeman stationed in each city.. they seemed not to comprehend the fact that once they attacked, I put about 10 cities on building longbowmen and swordsmen, and then speeded up the builds at around 250 gold a pop.. so I had no chance of really losing.. instead, I pressed on into their civilization, fully intending to punish them for their unacceptable betrayal. Of course.. after they lose a few units and a single city.. they start crying don't they.. please mighty Emperor Fluffy.. please spare us and give us peace. Lets see... hmm... no, we'll have peace when your cities and enslaved and your culture is mine. Mwahahahahahaha... *cough*.. well, anyway... it was a long and hard battle, that I think must have lasted at least 50 years or more.. during which my democracy devolved into anarchy twice (twice I tells ya! damn that war-weariness). But eventually, their capitol of Munich (next, after Berlin was captured ;o) was surrounded by my troops, and after a bit of bombardment by my catapults to make sure they were down to a single size village and had just a single spearmen left.. then, I decided it was time for peace (o;
The 'mighty' German empire now consists of a single size 3 city, probly guarded by a couple of spearmen.. in the middle of a continent... surrounded on all sides by my borders and cities (ex-german ones). Nowhere to run or hide now.. hah! Can't even build any boats, so can only try to build new cities on land.. which is hard when your land is about 5 sectors square... and if they try to get settlers through *my* borders... well... accidents will happen ;o)
So basically I'm enjoying myself in civ3 ;) I think it helped that I didn't have the annoyance of being beaten by sword wielders with my gun peeps.. mainly cause.. despite it being like.. 1750AD.. got no gun wielders at all... because.. despite there being a huuuuuuge continent (and I mean huge.. I'm still trying to settle the rest of it.. and it covers less than half the world map ..hehe) .. well, there's a total lack of saltpeter... I've also only seen a single horse on the continent too.. which is right in the north east, and I won't have cities up there for aaaaages... so.. mah.. it actually helped I feel.. ho hum... what to do now.. well... just play some more, and get my civilisation nice and advanced (more so anyway). That is all.

13th June 2003 18:27 Friday 13th! Eeeep
Beginning to get a tad samey really.. there only so much I can go on about Neverwinter ;o) but.. here goes anyway.. hehe.. been playing a couple of new NWN mods, called the Lord of Blight.. seem alright so far.. but nothing amazing about them or anything.. shrug.. still been playing civ 3 too... got to about 1000AD currently.. decided to play a game on a huge map, with only one other civilization on with me.. which has turned out to be the Germans.. so far it been alright.. my civ has been advancing pretty rapidly.. it's just gonna be the same old mad capering once get gunpowder stuff, cause then suddenly saltpeter starts popping up on the map.. hopefully I'll have some in my territory.. I've managed to make a nice line of cities in between the rest of continent and the german civ tho, so until they start shipping their colonies about on boats.. I've pretty much got them cornered in.. hehe, which is good.. small civ's always easier to handle ;) It also helps that there's a quite handy desert and barren plainland between our two civs.. which will probly stop either of us just advancing our cities til they meet (which can be bad, as it always usually tends to result in some peoples villages going over to the other side.. but even if you win it.. it can be bad.. they have a habit of reverting back.. feh, can't be doing with it really.. anyway, just waiting now for my kebab meat and chips to get delivered via dad.. mmmm... yay

12th June 2003 18:22
Been playing more nwn.. started the old twilight mod again, and enjoying being a nice paladin for a while again. Had the woman from kleeneze pop by for the interview thingy... left some stuff to look at and had a chat bout it and everything... it sounds alright.. I'll probly do it.. assuming that your sales go well.. 16 hours work for about 110ish quid not too shabby, assuming it goes well tho :op

11th June 2003 20:27
Woke up today, watched Married with Children on sky as usual, then brainteaser and Murder She Wrote. Played some neverwinter too.. on a pools of radiance module at moment.. it's alright.. but doesn't seem hugely impressive so far. Also had a slight hankering for playing another game.. I'm considering Deus Ex (after keep getting reminded of it from splogs blog), but problem is.. I have a copy of the game.. but.. it a bit iffy.. sometimes the disc just spins and spins.. and doesn't really read properly.. whereas.. other times it does... so while I think I should be able to install the game from it.. I'd probly ideally need a no cd crack or something, or it keeps buggering up every so often. Or, I could just play Max Payne again.. that'd be easier to sort out. Will probly decide later on..
So far spent about 3 or so hours today looking at a new online comic I'm into.. its called Mac Hall.. and about some students who.. well.. just do weird stuff.. ala comics... I'm not great at explaining these things am I ;o) But at any rate, it's good, so it'll be going on my permanent set of daily comics to read.. but currently still working my way through all the archived comics (200 of em).. I always do that when I start reading summat new... it takes a while tho, as some comics have fairly largish images that take a while to load for me.. not minutes long.. but.. feh, even 30 seconds adds up... currently up to around 115ish I think, so plenty of looking at them to do later tonight, when I come back on in an attempt to catch people in quest (other than Dave.. who is about the only person these days who comes in before 9 o clock :oP ). 9 to 10 usually best bet for me.. as can always hope for either Bowch or PrinceGaz or.. well.. other peeps (me too lazy to make list). Except for Sundays... with th introduction of D&D on Sundays.. we seem to now naturally congregate on a Sunday... even when it not a D&D night.. always seem to find Pixie or phee in there.. hehe
Hmm.. come to think of it.. I don't really know what to do now.. don't feel like neverwinter... maybe I will try to install Deus Ex or Max Payne.. hmm... will see.
01:29 - Ok.. so it not really today, but feh... installed max payne.. but it crashes whenever I try to run it .. annoyingness.. gonna patch it and try again later.. also.. had a phone call today.. got an interview tomorrow at four for my summer job.. delivering kleeneze stuff to peeps houses.. which.. feh, it a bit of extra cash.. which would be nice.. (o:

10th June 2003 18:26
Wasn't much in a blogging mood yesterday, so got a bit to catch up on (o:
Ended up finishing the vampire master system game, and then found another oldy I had, super off road! yay.. ended up playing a fair bit of it.. but then gave up once the tracks started repeating.. I think it might carry on indefinately.. so.. pointless to keep playing once maxed out my vehicle. Just finished playing a call for heroes 3 too, which I started in NWN and never finished a fair bit ago.. but the ending was pretty good.. so I'm looking forward to the fourth and last which not out yet.. hopefully it won't be too long to wait (o:
Hmm... what else to mention.. been playing a fair bit of Vice City on my PS2.. that's been pretty fun.. tend to play it for a couple of hours at a time, as there's only so much speeding about shooting cops.. or driving off high buildings that you can do before it gets just a little boring ;o)
Got another quest turn back yesterday.. ended up meeting about 14 or so centaurs with a lord.. killed one of my dwarves.. ah well... only about 10 members left now I think.. at any rate.. I'm gonna donate all the gold I can to alliance and then just look for a fight to kill them off.. hehe. Tonight will likely be spent with more NWN playing, a little Vice City (which I'm gonna play after I finished checking all my daily comics and email and stuff..), finally followed by.. I think I might watch a dvd of some kind.. maybe highlander.. or excalibur.... will see later.

9th June 2003 18:40
Had fun today so far, been playing more master system games.. found one of my old ones called Vampire, which fun to play again, as like wonderboy, I never finished it. Also finished chapter 1 of Neverwinter, now in port llast.. which, if I recall was alright, but not hugely interesting.. I personally seem to remember preferring the later chapters. At any rate, tonight will be pretty fun, there a whole night of good telly to watch, so plenty to do (o:

8th June 2003 00:24
Wanna know what's annoying? Being in IRC, and having it freeze on you.. so you don't actually know it's frozen.. until you try to type summat 20 minutes or so later, and then it automatically disconnects you. Whats even more annoying, is thinking you're in a full room, and then when you reconnect find that everyone else has buggered off while you were frozen... bugger it!.. well.. no point me being online anymore.. was only staying on to chat :oP So.. til morning
Woohooo, just finished Wonderboy!.. and.. found that Wonderboys name is apparently tom-tom... which is silly really.. but anyway.. woo!
22:27 - Well, been playing a few master system games.. bart and space mutants was a bad rom.. kept going all gribbly at certain points )o: .. but I don't doubt I'll have fun playing alex kidd and old stuff like that.. hehe. Played some more neverwinter earlier, getting nearer the end of chapter 1, which is good. Err.. and can't think of much else to say.. it's not been a huuuugely exciting day really, spent a fair amount of time.. just downloading stuff.. had to get a service pack update for internet explorer.. and then finished getting some retrogaming radio show which was about 20mb.. it wasn't all that bad, but I was annoyed to find you couldn't download old shows (in particular the two with chrono trigger in them) and you had to instead buy them on a cd or summat... well... I ain't buying them :op

7th June 2003 17:18
Not really much happened today so far.. played a little Neverwinter.. did decide to start the campaign again, and trying it with a half orc fighter with 6 intelligence (just found it funny when I saw some of dialog on Mojo's blog). Only problem I usually find is I get sick of the earlier chapters.. sometimes I wish I could just jump straight into the later ones, but feh.. if you do that, you miss henchmen quests.. possible romances etc etc.. it's just not quite the same.. another problem I found with my new character (who's called Grunk by the way, full name.. Grunk Grunk? hehe) was that with the low intelligence, I only get like.. 1 skill point per level.. which as I fighter with 20 strength, figured I'd be best to put in discipline to stop those annoying knockdown attacks. However, problem is that I now don't have lore.. neither do I have any Identify spells.. which.. means I can't identify anything pretty much.. this can be annoying when you pay 100 gold to identify some bracers, only to find their worth like.. 45 gold. Gold's short enough as it is without losing money on deals.. grumble.
Currently downloading 135 master system games via kazaa.. just always get a bit paranoid with things like that, as it's an exe file rather than a zip.. but.. decided to try it anyway, afterall.. 10 people have it.. so it surely works or is safe.. hopefully :oP If no more updates tonight, please assume that I have some gribbly exe virus and my hard drive has been wiped.. that is all ;o)

6th June 2003 00:13
Well, a new day begins, and.. I'm bored to death )o: Really just don't seem in the mood for any games or anything at the moment, although I did finish another Neverwinter module ahour or so ago, was only a short 2 hourish one, but was ok. Nothing to shout out about though. One thing I was considering was running through the official campaign again, maybe with my level 15 thief at one of the later chapters.. will see how I feel when I get up in about 12 hours.
Also played some more yugioh earlier.. which I suppose is more yesterdays blogging, but feh. Unlocked Yugi's booster pack, but couldn't be bothered to finish Kaiba's just yet, so I tried dueling Maximillian Pegasus a bit, which was ok, didn't find him hugely hard, but then I hadn't had any really unlucky breaks. Will probably play and try get more cards later. As for now.. well, only really watching tv.. even though there isn't anything real good on )o: Currently watching Cosmopolitans 50 ways to spice up your sex life or summat weird.. cause it's the best thing on.. which is really saying summat bout the late night telly currently. Why can't there be nice shows like Late Night Poker back on again? That was always a good way to waste an hour around this time at night. Ho hum.. Maybe I should try reading another book.. Gemmell might work tonight.. but then.. what Gemmell book? (o; Could try Druss series.. even though it wasn't that long since I last read them.. or maybe the Rigante series.. but then.. read those only a bit before too.. Waylander is kinda cool.. might start reading that one... either that or one of the standalone books... but feh.
16:40 - Didn't end up reading any novels.. but had a nice read through some of the sections of the DMG (dungeon masters guide). Decided I'd try playing summat else for a change today, so I loaded up Civilization 3 again, which handily was still installed from last time (I love my new bigger hardrive ;o) Dunno if it was the best idea, for although I tend to enjoy the games I play of it every so often, I don't think I've ever finished a civilization in it.. always seem to eventually just reach the stage where everyone else gets a bit power mad, and starts attacking me (and/or everyone else). That's the part where I usually get a bit bored.. cause it's really annoying to attack and defend and try to win those wars... which.. true.. is probably quite realistic.. most wars don't get won in a couple of days, but.. feh, it just tends to get on my nerves after a few decades of war, in which you just try to take over some git's city, and the annoying thing is.. by the time you take over it.. it'll be down to about 1 in size, and whenever you conquer it, any and all city advances get destroyed.. why? I don't know.. it's just silly if you ask me... the walls that do so well keeping your troops from slaughtering the simple folk inside, despite all the battering that you throw at them.. then mysteriously disappear when you finally get in.. bit unfair really.. to the extent, you then tend to just give up bothering to take these petty 1 size villages into your civilization, so you don't have to mess around with all the stupid peasants revolting on you and having to garrison about 3 troops just to keep em stable.. so you instead just tend to raze them all to the ground after a while.. which.. well, at the end of, you just have a lot of empty land where another civ once was... and... well, it wasn't really worth much was it? :oP
That's not to say I don't enjoy wars in some games.. I really enjoy going mental at my opponents in Alpha Centauri, that for me captures the wars quite well.. I dunno what it is really, just.. always seems to same in any civ games.. I always get sick of the wars. Possibly because of the way it sometimes seems to happen that, you and your musket toting soldiers, constantly can get repelled from some twits city by some walls and a couple of guys holding spears, yet, when they attack, a few warriors with swords strangely seem to have no trouble hopping over your walls, and butchering the heavily armed riflemen which strangely seem not to be able to defend the place. Hmm.. it just always seems to happen.. and annoys the hell out of me. Dunno why, but I always end up having images of Monty Python and Holy Grail.. with a couple of french prats shouting abuse at us while they hide behind their nice walls and chuck cows at us.. except, in civ.. without the cows.. and brave Sir Robin... but that would be a fun game... hmm...
Also currently listening to music, been mainly listening to Evanesence, a really great band that Bowch introduced me to (and got me addicted to). Although, currently, Tatu is on. I like Tatu (and not just because their young cute russian lesbians..), but I sometimes think they'd be better off just sticking to the music instead of some of the weird stuff they keep trying to do to gain publicity.. but then, when you think about it.. it's not that much different from what other people do.. how many dodgy male artists have gotten their chest out for the cameras and showed off a six pack? (Peter Andre springs to mind.. although.. damn, that was a long time ago ;o). Same with the women, they put on weird outfits and .. I dunno.. stretch in weird ways.. hehe.. Only reason most of this never really bothers me.. is.. because quite simply, I don't really watch MTV or anything.. so don't get to see them. For me, the music is the important thing, which is pity these days, as all the bands seem to be filled with pretty boys and hot babes (again with the covorting and skimpiness).. they should just get on with damn music like they're meant to.. feh..
That was a little unexpected.. only planned to write about Civ3.. and suddenly I'm ranting about current music videos (o; Well, at this point, I think I'll just prepare to watch Weakest Link (I'm not even getting started on the weakest link and Anne Robinson ;o) and get ready for a yummy kebab and chips meal that I try to have every Friday.. hopefully the chip shop won't have run out of kebab like last week )o:
17:10 - Mmmm.. just finished my meal (o: First kebab I've had for about a month.. and wow did I enjoy it.. hehe.. I'm now going to sit in my chair.. and.. not move for a while. Although... guess I could play games while I'm not moving.. hmm, Civ3 or NWN? what to choose..
22:00 - Just watched Have I Got News For You, and boy was it fun.. don't think I've laughed out loud like that for a good while.. Paul Merton was really on fire tonight.. I'd like to go into more about it really, but.. it wouldn't be funny.. have to watch it... speaking of which, I'll have to look out for it, think that it's replayed on either Saturday or Sunday...hmmm.. well, I'm off to play more Civ3 anyway.. just about in the gunpowder age... only I don't have any saltpeter.. so can't make any gunpowder... which... kinda buggers me up actually ;o)
23:55 - Well, it reached that point in Civ3.. for no apparent reason, the zulu's started a war with me.. even though our relations are good, even if I butter them up with great gifts beforehand.. it doesn't matter.. they still attack you.. it's bits like that, that I think make a mockery of any 'attempt' to have relations in any civ game.. sometimes.. they just attack you.. for no apparent reason. And, yet once again, it reached an annoying point.. the war started with an unexpected attack against one of my size 6 cities... which is out of the way on a little island. Their single swordsman easily prevailed against my spearmen guarding it.. despite it having walls etc etc.. annoying.. hmm? Especially when earlier in the game, you might have to throw 3 or 4 units at a city with walls... again defended by spearmen.. I remember a point from early tussles in the game where I had to throw 3 archers and a chariot, repeatedly against this level 2 village.. but.. feh. To follow this, we have of course, my natural retaliation. I send 2 units of cavalry (6.3.2 units) in the only boat I had available. These landed next to one of their size 6 cities.. and I try attacking... the first one.. causes maybe 1 bar of damage.. against .. a spearman or pikeman (1.3.1 or summat).. my cavalry was taken down to zero bars, but due to special ability, cut off the attack before dying. My next unit, attacks again, against another fresh unit.. they managed to destroy this one, true.. but still at loss of 2 of their 5 life bars.
Next, come a horde of their sword wielding nutters.. although, in fairness.. only 2 of these units were in range to attack, so they did, one against one, other against my other unit. The first died.. it had zero bars to start, one hit killed it.. fair enough maybe I might think.. but the second.. this ... elite unit of cavalry, with attack and defense probably twice as high as any stupid zulu waving a sword about.. then gets completely wasted by them.. didn't scratch them once.. now... to clarify.. we have.. my unit... elite (as in tougher than veterans) rifle wielding (as in guns that shoot little bits of lead into you from long range) horsie riding (undoubtedly the best horses to be found throughout the continent).. against.. zulu's (I wont say anything particularly against zulu's.. but I recall they seemed to favour the attack on masse and generally die horribly, approach) armed with... swords (pointy metal sticks) and on foot (fair bit slower than a horse).. now.. let me just ask this.. a.. cavalry unit.. with rifles.. beaten by swordsmen.. on foot?.. how exactly does that happen? Are they just led by a reeeeeally dumb sergeant or summat? "Alright lads, this is the plan. We'll stand here, and completely negate any advantage our horses give us, and.. we'll wait for them to get into close range so they can stab us with swords, that'd only be fair, right?"
Grrrr...civ can really annoy me.. well, time to look for another game to play (o:

5th June 2003 01:51
It's a little early in the morning, or.. rather bit late at night for me (o; Been playing yugioh for about the past 2 or 3 hours.. hehe, got surprisingly into it tonight. Very near to completing the 4th tier, which will unlock the last 4 players of the game, only 13 more duels to go til that's unlocked and I also gain access to a further booster pack. Yay (o:
As an interesting aside, the first match I had with Seto Kaiba (who is virtually a version of me, just in the cartoon ;o), it turned out quite funny really, as he played the exact same tactic that I use myself, which involves summoning up the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, which is pretty much the most powerful monster in the game (not necessarily true, but in terms of base stats.. yeah, pretty much). What made it even more enjoyable, was that I had the card which should strike fear into anyone using the Ultimate Dragon tactic.. it's probably one the most perfect ways to turn it around. The Change of Heart.. that basically allows you take control of your opponents (grossly powerful) monster.. coupled with fact that to summon the Ultimate Dragon, they will have willingly taken their life points down to 3000, once you grab control of it, you can usually pretty much finish them off with their own monster. It was just nice, as it was like an exact replay of some of the matches I've had.. hehe, it really is an excellent counter tactic... basically.. I suppose to sum up all that rubbish I just said..
me like Kaiba, cause he is like (and plays like) me.. heheh
At any rate.. almost 2 now, and I think I've had enough games for one night, gonna trot off to bed and finish watching Tomb Raider (never ended up watching last night.. was addicted to that new NWN module and was playiung it til about 4am or something (o: Til morning....
16:15 - Had a nice morning so far, played some more of the Neverwinter module I was currently on, but in the end, I just gave up on it.. partly, because due to a bug, my character had permanently seemed to acquire an entangle effect on her.. not in that she couldn't move, but that she just seemed to be covered in vines and leaves.. was pretty odd. And also, because there were just so many enemies! Was getting abit annoying, because.. as she's a thief, she's not that great at huge amounts of enemies, and plus, it simply takes ages to take out zombie warriors and such with a heavy crossbow.. in the end, it just got boring, it was taking so long to fight way through. I may start the module again, but I'll use my level 20 fighter and just tank my way through, will probably enjoy it better, and just get straight to any of the roleplaying bits.
Also been playing more yugioh.. finally unlocked the last tier, but before I start playing them, I'm going to win against Yugi and Kaiba 20 times, so I can unlock their booster packs, once that's done, onto the final tier.. and closer to finishing the game!
I'm just a little bored at moment tho, played NWN, played Yugioh, played some Unreal Tournament, need summat else to play :oP Might try playing some older games, reminded me actually, I was going to look for a Wonderboy game.. I know it'll be available for MAME, but I find MAME exact arcade style a little annoying sometimes, as often I don't have the time (or skill!) to simply play an arcade game to its finish, thats why I prefer Snes or Genesis games, as the emu's let you save games whenever you like. It makes it much easier to play through long games.. just dunno if Wonderboy ever got onto snes or genesis.. I know wonderboy 3 and stuff like that was.. but.. as for original.. *shrugs* ... will probly update when I've found out ;)
17:20 - Just read Splog's Blog, which I hadn't actually read for a while. Was interesting to find out that Mojo has been playing Neverwinter a little too.. and he also gave me ideas about taking screenshots of NWN.. which I'm off to do now (o; Also got reminded that I'd wanted to get a portrait of one of my characters in Neverwinter, but I wasn't sure where they were hidden in the NWN folder on harddrive. Gave me idea that I could just take a screenshot and then cut out the relevant portraits, so woo! Expect a few piccy's to be up soon ;)
18:20 Well, after a bit of annoyance (in finding out I couldn't open TGA files), I finally found a program that could view and convert them. Now they in jpg format, and I can put them up here! Yay (o: They're below.
Jonathan - Level 19 Fighter / Level 1 Wizard
Melissa - Level 15 Thief. Now you see her..
Melissa - Now you don't (o:

4th June 2003 18:30
Well, enjoyed today so far (o: Last night I started playing one of 3 new modules for Neverwinter I downloaded, it's called Bone Kenning, the art of the Thanaturge.. basically, you're just a necromancer and it has some cool features, like making undead thralls from bones and skulls and stuff, the cool bit being that you mix and match different bones, like.. sturdier bones, or warded bones which give spell resistance and all kind of cool stuff. Played it again this morning, and I reckon I near the end of it, but it's been very enjoyable. Also played some more Yugioh Eternal Duelist, started dueling the 4th tier of duelists now, which includes some of the harder players, like Yami Bakura, Seto Kaiba, and Yami Yugi himself.
As another point of interest, I found out today that they show Knightmare on Challenge Tv at 6 o clock! Yay! Haven't seen Knightmare for aaaaaages, must be at least 8 or 9 years... was nice to just watch it again for a bit. Later, I can picture more NWN playing, and some more Yugioh playing.. and.. feh, who needs more than that? hehe.

3rd June 2003 Oww
In yet another great start to a day, woke up with an awful headache )o: Took a couple of paracetamols, and now (4:30ish) I'm finally starting to feel better. Rather than my usual problem of not getting enough sleep, I think I caused this one by having too much, was asleep by 2am, but didn't wake til like.. 1pm.. 11 hours sleep is a bit much, and presumably what caused it. I find it odd that sleeping too long can cause headaches.. when sleeping too little does the same.. seems a bit unfair really. But at any rate, think I'm ready to face the rest of the day now.. although.. can't particularly think of anything much to do :oP Not much in the mood for any more Neverwinter at the moment, and same goes for most other games I got.. tried a bit more reading last night, but just couldn't get back into Eddings.. tried to start reading Pawn of Prophecy, but only got about 20 pages in before I just put it down and tried to sleep.. feh. May try to start painting some Games Workshop models I bought off eBay, but... will probly just leave that til later.. I reckon I'll just mope around and listen to music for a few hours (o:
10:50 - Well, played a little more yugioh! eternal duelist, got myself some nice new cards and made my deck a little nicer. Also downloaded some more modules for Neverwinter, which I fully intend to be playing tonight until around 3ish. Then, off to bed to finish watching tomb raider.. I was never into the games, but feh, I love the movie. And also, I'd like to just say one thing. Say NO! to Planetarion! End the torment now! Evil Gaz, Evil!.. PrinceGaz is starting up planetarion again.. sigh.. he used to get so into it, he'd set his alarm clock at wee hours, just so he could get up to attack people or stuff.. its an awful evil game, and I think he making a huuuuuuuuuge mistake.. hopefully, he'll quickly remember why he quit last time, and quit very very soon. Remember, it's not their fault, just pity them for their foolish addiction

2nd June 2003 Illness
Well.. today didn't start well. Ended up waking at about 9.. which was earlier than I'd hoped given I read my book til about 4:30. Had an awful stomach ache and felt really naues.. nausi.. felt like puking up. Turns out my mum tells me that the Pork Pies in the fridge were dodgy, after dad had brought them back from caravan.. thanks a lot.. always nice to learn important information the day after you ate one for supper. But anyway, after 4 hours or so of lying in bed feeling sorry for myself (and watching Lord of the Rings and reading more of my book) I finally got up, it's now one.. and although my stomach still feels a little unsettled.. should be fine for a hard day of sitting in front of my computer and playing games all day.. with book reading and online time between games.. hehe.. love holidays... but.. actually.. I do the same while I'm still at Uni... so mah :oP
7:00PM - Well, just finished reading my second book in the tawny man series by Robin Hobb... and I'll really sad now.. cause the third isn't published yet.. and I wanna read it )o: Apparently it out in October, so hopefully will grab it around then.
Stomach feeling a bit better anyway, which is good, should be fine by tonight.. can't really think of anything else interesting to say.. just gonna stay online, or maybe play some NWN.. and watch 3rd series Angel new on Five.
10:20PM - Sad point now really. I really like my two characters in my Quest party, the Death Knights, even wrote some stories about their adventures together. Over the last year or so, slowly declined from quest, only reason I suppose I even stayed in was for the alliance I was in, and for the sake of the party. But tonight, made a decision, it was time to let them go, which means death in combat. Grondry wouldn't have it any other way. You always joke about letting your party die out in some huge battle, but.. you never seem to really mean it. Now I kinda accept it though, as it's the best thing to do. I really can't imagine Grondry dying in his sleep or something stupiud like that, no .. he'd be in the thick of battle, back to back with Thorach. I'm just sad, cause even though I know it's time to let them go, I really loved those two.

1st June 2003 Heatwave!
Well.. as the title suggests, today (well, and yesterday really) has been veeeery hot. This has mostly led to much sweating and drinking of things, although sadly the heat never goes away no matter how much drinking happens. I hate really hot days like this, makes me wonder how people can go on holiday to places like Spain... specifically to bake their brains out! People are insane...
On another note tho, went out to a carboot sale today, which was alright. Found 8 oldish Games Workshop based books anyway, which I didn't have. Something for the collection really, and also a couple of Pratchett books I didn't have. Only thing I don't like about Pratchett books is the way peeps always overcharge you on them.. £2 each they cost.. a price that in itself didn't really bother me.. I don't consider £2 too much for a book I know I'll like and read... the thing that annoyed me was that virtually all his other books on the stall were like.. £1 or summat... grr.. they just always seem to charge us more.. gits
Finished my 75MB download too, so started to have a quick play of the new module. It pretty good, one of the areas I reached so far was a cool snow covered city.. which is obviously where some of the huge hakpak goes.. creating nice looking areas like that.. will see how rest of mod goes before I can really report tho.. although I was happy to find a merchant that sold unlimited magic bags that take 80% of weight of things inside them. I ended up selling all of my old magic bags (over 35!) that were 20%, 40%, or 60%.. replaced them all with the new 80%'ers. Also picked up another bag of holding, which is even nicer, just takes all the weight off entirely.. only found about 9 of them so far though, but I always look out for more. My fighter is typically a collector, I tend to pick up any loot that I can find.. which can fill my pack very quickly.. hence the 45 or so carrying bags ;) Having a strength of 30 helps too can carry tons.. yay.. it gets unbelievably handy when you're fighting foes that drop .. I dunno, magic plate or greataxes and stuff.. things that reall fill your inventory and take up weight.. but then.. they worth most to sell.. so it's worth collecting them. I think one of the things that made me realise just how much my fighter has was when I played the last mod, at one point, some advisors were moaning to their queen about the 500k of gold they'd spent, which apparently had depleted the treasury... I was like thinking.. well.. should I offer the queen (which I had just married.. as an aside ) a loan or summat? I mean.. I had like 8 million gold in my inventory (bumped that up to 9 next module when I'd sold all my bags and their related junk inside). What can I say? When you've run your fighter through so many mods.. some of which pitch you against incredibly hard enemies.. well... you're gonna make some hard cash (o:
Another thing that happened.. although not really today... was that I started reading a book again. Which is good, as I hadn't for a while. Started the tawny man series, one by Robin Hobb. The first book, Fool's Errand really is great.. it actually came to the point that I was still reading it when I went to bed.. despite knowing I had to wake up early to go boot saleing.. I think I finally put it down at like.. 3:30.. you know a books good when it's that addictive.. in fact... sod this, I'm off to read it some more... hehe
6ish - Well.. that was.. kinda fun... my mates came round again, invited me off to play football.. feh, something I'm not too keen on at my age (20 :o), but mates fun.. so worth it overall. At any rate, had a laugh, got a bit more tired.. hurt my right foot again... pretty much everything I expect from football.. but at least we didn't have to walk to park like all those normal peeps do.. my mate got his car running again .. hehe
Half 10 - Ooh, more news (o: mcphee is gonna run another D&D campaign once Pixie has finished his (which might be in another two or three sessions). Already got my future character sorted out, Melissa the halfling rogue.. me likes halfling rogues.. very good and.. sneaky stuff.. hehe. Will no doubt be very fun to play, especially as she not a goodie do-gooder.. hehe

31st May 2003 NWN and other musings
I'm really getting a little confused about something.. this is the second time, that I've come to update this blog, and ended up noticing that the dates for each of the header bits are a day ahead.. strange at one point, but easily fixed.. but now I'm confused.. that it seems to have happened again.. and I could've swore that they were right after I fixed them last time... I'm beginning to get a little worried by it, maybe there are date goblins hiding inside my website who come out at night when I've gone to bed, and change all my dates around to confuse me.. or maybe I just keep updating this site after midnight and forget that the date will have changed because of that... hmmm
At any rate, I remembered why I quit the first Call for Heroes anyway, for some reason.. the module creator has made most of the locked chests, completely immune to bashing.. meaning that you need a thief or a knock spell... neither of which a level 20 fighter will have much of.. (well actually, I'm a level 19 fighter/level 1 mage... that doesn't solve the problem tho.. as I can't seem to find any damn knock scrolls anywhere). It's just annoying really, can't figure out why anyone would do it... the module is good enough that I can play past it in the second one, but.. feh, just annoys me leaving all that potential loot around. I'm considering making a placeholder module and just leaving a rod of casting knock 2 times a day... but.. nah, be cheating really.. hehe
Now I'm near the end of the 2nd Call for Heroes, I started downloading the 3rd. The modules file was 8MB.. fairly large, but for a module of its size, not bad.. great I thought.. then looked at the hakpak.. 75MB.. hmm.. bugger. So I expect to be online for the next 4 or 5 hours.. waiting for that to download.. sigh.. but the mod will probly be worth it (o:
Also getting curious now about whether we gonna play D&D in IRC tomorrow.. we usually meet up every fortnight, but Pixie (the DM) ain't been on for a while, and has had website problems (in a 'lose all your website data' kinda way). Will probably just turn up at 6ish and look to see if anyone else has turned up anyway. Hope there will be one though, as I really enjoy playing D&D with my sorceror Jarke (o:

30th May 2003 More NWN
Well, another productive day so far, been playing yet more Neverwinter, and finished two modules, and started on the third. The first, Candle in the Dark, was recommended to me by Finalstryke if I recall properly.. but I can't see what he was on about.. didn't seem very good to me at all, although I think I did miss one possibly plot point due to an error.. which maybe buggered some of it up. The second, Always Summer Days (wonder how long it took them to think that up? ;o) was ok, a more comical mod rather than some of the serious ones out there, it was fun for a bit, but tended to have tons and tons of run around quests.. made even more annoying in that, you'd get to one place to pick up and item, and then find that to get said item, you had to find a fish to get some bear out the way, the fish being sold back in the city you've just spent 5 minutes travelling from... needless to say, it got a bit frustrating at times. The third which I'm currently playing is called Under the Moonlight or summat, and it doesn't seem too bad. Another one made for level 20 characters, it has some hard creatures, but none so far that I've ever really felt I was in danger.. unlike the dragon slaying one I mentioned.. which after checking up in the toolset, I find the reason why one of the vampires was so hard.. he was like.. level 75! hehe.. took a while to kill him, was just disappointed when I couldn't sell his stuff cause they were marked as plot (and so unsellable). Rather annoying when you've spent a goodly amount of time (and heal potions!) in trying to kill him. Still, its some more nice stuff to keep in my fighters bags of holding (o:
As for tonight, it'll probably be a very important night of watching friends & will and grace. Probably with more NWN'age at points.
Ooh, and as a side note, I sent some quest turns in recently (o: I'm quite proud of that really. I've given my party possibly one of the hardest quests they've ever faced... getting back to the home city :oP Discovering that this is becoming very hard. Last turn, I accidentally put the wrong target on a teleport spell, ended up going 10 sectors in opposite direction.. which I now find this turn, has put me other side of a river of blood (as I discovered after stopping at it after only two moves.. bugger). Next turn, dump some dead people out party, teleport over the river, then keep on trekking... are we there yet?
Later Well, finished the Moonlight mod anyway, was alright, had a fairly nice haul of stuff to sell at the end of it, although I had to load twice to try beat the end boss. It's the first time I have seen how really annoying harm spells can be at higher levels.. lets see.. we have a.. 6th level cleric spell, which requires a touch attack.. not really hard unless your against a really dextrous rogue or something, against a fighter, you might just be needing like.. a 13 to hit or something.. which at high levels if easy.. the spell also allows no saving throw, and simply takes the target down to about 2hp.. to me, that seems quite nasty... I'd have thought some kind of save would've been more appropriate.. but mah. I've never been much of a clericy type, so never really noticed spells like that (although creeping doom is a cool one I have noticed before.. but at any rate, I slew the evil demons, saved the village, then sold the loot.. all in a days worth for any adventurer of my calibre ;)
Next module I'm currently trying is A Call for Heroes, the Hand of Wu Jan. I tried the first in this series, and although I can't remember why, I wasn't completely satisfied with it, and ended up quitting it, but out of boredom, I loaded up the sequel.. and, well it seems pretty good, enjoying it so far. Still, so far, my favourite modules have to be the lone wolf ones and guild war & twilight, a couple of mods by a guy called Rick Burton. They rock (o: .. just waiting now for the sequel to twilight to come out.. called Midnight.. won't be for a bit tho.. sigh.. ah well... nobody in IRC at the moment anyway, so I think it's time to head back to slay more evil monsters and save the world (o:

29th May 2003 Continuing the blog
Well, today so far has been productive. Played some more neverwinter nights.. gave a go to a higher level 'dragon slaying' module, which was quite fun.. possibly a bit mental with the amount of gold and experience given, but mah.. it's nice having some extra gold... even actually managed to find some nicer magic items to wear instead of my usual stuff.. got a belt of dragon strength +8, another divine fury katana (to dual-wield with my other divine fury katana :o), and some nice boots to replace my boots of speed.. the new boots give haste too, but also give you a dex boost and some v.nice dodge and improved evasion feats... very good boots (o:
Of course.. if you don't play Neverwinter Nights... or D&D.. that means diddly squat.. but feh... this is my blog, and I can put what I want in it ;o)
Sooo.. what do to now? Actually.. I can feel my dueling deck twitching... It's time to duel!... hehehe
Oooh.. and damn... Buffy was good tonight on bbc2.. hehe, very nice surprise at the end (o:

28th May 2003 Starting a blog
Well, this is my blog.. which I have started due to Gaz pestering me about it.. well, what can you do? Don't expect fancy links to stuff each day, or.. interesting stuff.. just.. a page.. with writing on it... which you can read until you get bored and then go somewhere else. Ho hum... well, thats the blog started... I'm off to play more games :oP
