This album was always a favorite of mine for two major reasons, solid music, and intelligent songwriting. From the day I received the album to record, LOOSE was always an album I admired highly. It was the third full album I heard, and it showed me the virtuosity of these two artists. Starting with "spirit LOOSE", the album is a fun musical journey, crossing a whole range of emotional content.

B'z - LOOSE
Review by Dave
Rating - ****

spirit LOOSE - This song sounded to me more like an impromptu session that Tak and Kohshi thought would fit. Not much to speak of, but it's fun, and very infectious...you should see me in the car when this comes on...(LOL)

Zaruuse (The Loose) - This is one of the simpler songs on the album musically, but is a great way to start the album. Kind of gets you in the groove for what's coming next....

Negai "Buzz" Style (Wishes) - This version of Negai is much more complete sounding than the single version. The Les Paul certainly fills some holes in the song...I love the Strat, don't get me wrong, but having a little Gibson chunk in there certainly helps the song. The lyrics in this song are inspiring and funny..."omae no mune de chisu kushitai" (I just want to suffocate in your bosom)

Yume Mi ga Oka - This song has some incredible string arrangements, and great songwriting. I always liked the sound of this song very much.

Bad Communication (000-18 Style) - By my favorite B'z song from the BMG era....it was brilliantly redone in a great hard edged acoustic track (It's fun to play too!). We really get to hear Kohshi blow his pipes....he really sings great on this song. Of course, Tak turns in a great performance, playing a blistering acoustic solo....a great remake of a great song....

Kienai Niji (The Everlasting Rainbow) - A beautiful song, beautiful lyrics, and a great performance from the whole band. Tak plays a great slow, meandering solo, but the song on the whole is fantastic...this is one of the few B'z songs where there really doesn't need to be a guitar solo (My GOD! Did I say that? Tak, gomen nasai!!!!!!)

love me, I love you - A fun and infectious tune as there ever was....this is one of the best songs on the CD. The guitar in this song simply is astounding, and the words are very funny, but very true.....Kohshi makes breaking up with someone fun!

Love Phantom - A little bit of a dive in to the techno-industrial world, this song is pretty good...I never really liked this song until I saw "BUZZ the Movie".....Tak with a laser mounted on his guitar!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kakkoii da yo! A good guitar performance, but the lack of "actual instruments" upsets me quite a bit...

Tekigai na Kirya - A good solid rock song, but it is an average B'z song....

Suna no Hanabira - Probably one of my favorite songs on this album...for the simple reason that the music is exemplary. LOOSE is probably the best album musically of all of the B'z albums in my opionion...and this song is a perfect example...

Kirei na Ai Janakute Mo - I was never really enamored with this song at first, but I have grown to love this song very much. A nice lilting tune, it's music is very expressive....

BIG - A favorite of mine...this acoustic song is very nice..and the song is very fun...this is also very fun to play.... drive to MY WORLD - A very good song....it has one of my favorite solos on the entire album....and a great vocal performace from Kohshi....

All in all, I LOVE this album...albeit, it is not my favorite....I would recommend this CD to any new B'z fan, or J-Music fan for that matter...it is simply the finest album musically from any rock band in a long, long time...
