My Mother
This is for you, Mother!
To my Mother
My "Happy Mother's Day" logo is from
I don't know how she feels about
Being on the Internet, but......
Here's a picture of my Mother.
Isn't she beautiful?
Would you believe was 75 on May 20th.?
And this is a recent picture!
Sorry, Mother! Now everyone knows your age!

The angel of May brings the blush and promise of spring. May's angel rejoices with us as we take heart at the sight of trees and shrubs in bloom and relish our anticipation of the fruits to come.
This angel of spring reminds us that this is the time of awakening the seed within ourselves. Perhaps we have a deep longing, an artistic talent never explored, or a friendship never quite attempted.
The angel of May will help us discover this potential, nurturing our spirits so we can dare to fulfill this hidden promise and bring forth the fruits of a life fully lived.
THINGS MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME:
My Mother taught me LOGIC...
"If you fall off that swing and break your neck,
You can't go to the store with me."
My Mother taught me MEDICINE...
"If you don't stop crossing your eyes,
They're going to freeze that way."
My Mother taught me TO THINK AHEAD...
"If you don't pass your spelling test,
You'll never get a good job!"
My Mother taught me ESP...
"Put your sweater on; don't you think
That I know when you're cold?"
My Mother taught me TO MEET A CHALLENGE...
"What were you thinking?
Answer me when I talk to you...
Don't talk back to me!"
My Mother taught me HUMOR...
"When that lawn mower cuts off your toes,
Don't come running to me."
My Mother taught me how to BECOME AN ADULT...
"If you don't eat your vegetables,
You'll never grow up.
My mother taught me ABOUT SEX...
"How do you think you got here?"
My mother taught me about GENETICS...
"You are just like your father!"
My mother taught me about my ROOTS...
"Do you think you were born in a barn?"
My mother taught me about the WISDOM of AGE...
"When you get to be my age, you will understand."
My mother taught me about ANTICIPATION...
"Just wait until your father gets home."
My mother taught me about RECEIVING...
You are going to get it when we get home
And my all time favorite thing:
My mother taught me about JUSTICE...
"One day you will have kids,
And I hope they turn out just like YOU..
Then you'll see what it's like."
M-O-T-H-E-R
"M" is for the million things she gave me,
"O" means only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,
"H" is for her heart of purest gold;
"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
"R" means right, and right she'll always be,
Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER",
A word that means the world to me.
~~~Howard Johnson (c. 1915)~~~
My Mother loves gardening, so Mother,
Here are a few gardening tools for you!
And now for Some Motherly Advice....we've all heard!
And probably more than once!
See, Mother, I did remember your advise!
Always change your underwear; you never know when you'll have an accident.
Don't make that face or it'll freeze in that position.
Be careful or you'll put your eye out.
What if everyone jumped off a cliff? Would you do it, too?
You have enough dirt behind those ears to grow potatoes!
And while you're at it, scrub that crusty neck!
Close that door! Were you born in a barn?
If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.
Don't put that in your mouth; you don't know where it's been!
If you fall and get hurt, I'm going to whip you!
If I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times!
What will the neighbors think?!!
Because I said so!
And what would Mother's Day be
Without flowers?
So, Mother, Here are some roses for you!
And some more flowers!
