Missions
What is the mission of our church and the United Methodist Church? As members of a local church, we are called to be in ministry in all aspects of our daily lives in our community as well as globally. We are partners in God's mission to spread the good news of Jesus Christ through our actions, deeds and financial means. There are many opportunities that call us to reach out and give ourselves in love to God's people.
Each month we have a mission offering with which we have supported some of the following mission projects:
- United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) for Hurricane Victims and Relief in the Philippines and Earthquake victims in Peru.
- Non-perishable food items and monetary donations for families and homeless through Fullerton Interfaith Emergency Services and Purple Ark Ministries.
- Pastor's Emergency Funds
- Support Our Covenant Relationship Missionary in Tibet, Dr. Elma Jocson, who is currently doing surgical studies in the Philippines.
- One Share of the Nanbu Livestock project in China through Heifer International
- 74 "Mosquito Nets for Malaria" for Bishop Swenson's Birthday
- "Strength for the Service" Devotional Guides for US Military Service Personnel overseas and rehabilitating in military hospitals.
- Monetary donation for Center for a Brand New Day (help for the mentally ill program) in Garden Grove
Future projects may include: Operation Christmas Child, Holiday Help for Needy Families, Heifer International, Sewig Blankets for the Homeless and Convalescent Hospitals, Habitat for Humanity.
