Brown Bread
3/4 cup raisens
1 teaspoon baking soda
Mix raisens and baking soda together
and pour 1/2 cup boiling water over
them. Let cool.
1 tablespoon shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 small egg, beaten
1 cup flour
Pinch salt
Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg,
flour, salt and raisens. Mix well. Grease
and flour two 1lb. cans. Fill half full with
batter. Bake at 350 degrees, 45-60 minutes.
