Credits: Director: Larry Shaw

Starring: Guest Stars:
Plot:
Something fell to Earth in the Wisconsin woods... something that caused the government to evacuate a small town and close the area to the public. Mulder breaks military security to discover what it is, endangering not only his job but his life. Also drawn to the crash site is Max Fenig, an eccentric UFO fan who may know more about what's happening than any of them are aware - including Max.
My Rating: 10/10

Another of my favourite episodes. Max Fenig is an interesting character and he paints in some background information on Mulder (the MF Luder tale) for viewers and expands the alien mythology - NICAP, alien abductions etc. The alien depicted in this episode obviously owes it's existence to "Predator" but what I want to know is how it fits in with the other alien life-forms depicted in the X-Files in later episodes? Is it related to the "little green men" in any way?

After toeing the company line, Scully starts to believe in Mulder. The evidence is too strong that it wasn't a toxic spill and when she sees the radiation burns on a number of victims she starts to question what is really happening. Mulder, as usual sees the alien abudction first hand with no other witnesses to support him.

Notable Quotable:
Mulder: "I didn't order room service."
Scully: "This isn't funny, Mulder."

Mulder: "Do you hear that sound, Scully? Hammer and nails. They're building a gallows in the town square."

Mulder: "How can I disprove lies that are stamped with an official seal?"
FBI Official: "That will be all, Mr. Mulder."
Mulder: "You can deny all the things I've seen, all the things I've discovered, but not for much longer. Because too many others know what's happening out there. And no one, no government agency, has jurisdiction over the truth."

Deep Throat: "Always keep your friends close, Mr McGrath, but keep your enemies closer."
Where Have I Seen That Face Before?

Scott Bellis appeared in "Timecop", "Intersection" and "Little Women" while Marshall Bell has appeared in "A Nightmare On Elm Street II", "Total Recall" and "Operation Dumbo Drop".
