The City of Greater Sudbury was founded by an amalgamation of seven cities and towns and many smaller communities throughout the former Regional Municipality of Sudbury.  The amalgamation which occurred in 2001  resulted in the creation of the largest city in Northern Ontario in terms of population & land mass.

Sudbury is well known for it's two nickel mining companies Inco & Falconbridge. Together they form the biggest nickel mining complex in the world.  There's also the Big Nickel tourist attraction which is a tribute to Sudbury long standing nickel industry.

The official languages of Sudbury are french and english.  We are lucky to have 3 post educational institutions in our city.  these being Cambrian college, Laurentian University & the newest most up to date French language college in the province.

Here are some pictures of our fine city.
