Differences between the succubi and the Succubae.

If you've visited the Mythological Origins Page, I'm sure you know all about the succubi: their history, their workings, their methods.

Well, the modern succubi operates in a much more subtle yet just as effective manner. We can't just go around sucking the souls out of random guys. It's rude, and in this age of promiscuity, just not safe.

Oh sure, there are a few old-school succubi out there running around, but it's rare you'll actually have a run-in with one. They're more reclusive and quiet.

Not at all like the modern succubi. Today's succubi enjoys a good party. She's fun, enjoyable to be around, and has more moxie than she knows what to do with. This also has alot to do with the fact that today's succubi is much more goal-oriented. She has branched out. Her life is filled with school, work, and the pursuit of happiness and pleasure, which leaves very little time for soul-sucking.

This fact makes the modern succubi much less of a threat than those of "olden days", especially to men.

The modern succubi has learned the benefits of having men around: someone to cuddle with, someone to kill spiders for you, a place to go and do homework when your neighbor is being too loud, not to mention the obvious source of affection they provide. These are only a few of the perks, but these four items show a definite need for the male in the modern succubi's life.

Now, then there's us...the Succubae. The Succubae (notice the difference in capitalization and spelling) are a specific clan of modern succubi. They are the supreme and all-around coolest clan by far, in fact. But that's just our opinion.

The only reason we bother to point this out is because succubi and Succubae are so often used interchangably in the MASH vocabulary, when in fact, while related, the two are different. All CAMOS members are Succubae, but not all succubi are CAMOS members. Yes, all Succubae are [modern]succubi, but not all succubi are Succubae. It's a very thin line, but one that we feel begs to be clarified.
