Become a part of the Canadian Buffy the Vampire Slayer Site
I'm beginning to think that I can't run this site entirely by myself. So, I'm looking for dedicated volunteers to help out. If you can spare some time, why not apply for one of the jobs below?
You will be credited on the staff page, as well as credited directly on whatever work you do, should it be appropriate. I'm afraid I can't pay you, since I don't make any money whatsoever off of the site.
Episode Guide
I need someone to do up episode summaries for current and past episodes. New episodes should be done by a week after the YTV broadcast of Buffy. Old episodes can be done at your leisure, although trying to get one done a week would be good.
No knowledge of HTML needed.
You should be a competent writer.
I will need a typed and spell-checked copy to post.
Public Relations
The main role of this job would be to get more people coming to the site. Adding it to links pages, webrings, and search engines would be your responsibility. You'll also get to fight with Yahoo! to accept the tripod URL. This job could be done at your leisure.
No knowledge of HTML needed.
Graphics
If you're good with a graphics program, then this is the job for you. You would design headers, buttons, banners, and other needed graphics for the site. You can place your name in a small font on the image, but only the Canadian Buffy Site's URL may appear. This job is very low-maintenance, and could be done completely at your leisure.
Knowledge of HTML an asset, but not necessary.
Maintenance
This is basically the miscellaneous job. You would mostly be fixing up HTML, updating pages, checking links, moderating the message board, and doing other odd jobs around the site. This site would be fairly high-maintenance, but you would get serious credit within the site, as well as the password to the account.
Knowledge of HTML necessary.
I will need to see a sample of your work.
Plenty of free-time.
Content Writers
Another miscellaneous job. In this one, you would write up basic content for the site. It would be up to you to come up with a feature. After running your ideas past me and getting my approval, you would prepare all of the content for the feature, and then you would send it either to me, or a maintenance person. You could work at your leisure. Do one feature for the site, or several.
No knowledge of HTML necessary.
English competancy.
A word processor with spell-check.
Editors
This is a simple job for anyone who is strong in English. You would basically check the site, and all incoming features, for basic errors. The outcome need not be perfect, but it should be fairly well-done. This would probably not be too high-maintenance a job, but you would have to be able to receive emails from the content writers on a regular basis, as well as be able to proof it and send it along rather quickly. However, the workload can be catered to your time schedule.
No knowledge of HTML necessary.
English competancy.
