Diaramas
Paint inside a shoebox inside. One of the long sides will be the bottom of your diarama. Paint the sky and grass areas and let dry. Cut a lake from construction paper and glue on the bottom of diarama. Add whatever features you would like... a tent made from material and a popsicle stick to stand it up. Canoe from birchbark or paper. Fish cut from construction paper. Use toothpicks and tissue paper to add a campfire. Cotton for clouds, etc... the skies the limit! Provide different coloured clay for adding 3D people, objects to the diarama.

Rustic Frame
Gather large twigs and use twine to attach together to a frame shape. Have the children paint a camping picture to attach to the frame.

Fishing Boat
Have the children paint and decorate a cardboard box for a boat.

Life Jackets
Paint a large paper bag orange. Cut open a large paper bag to make a vest shape and add velcro or ties to close.

Make felt fish or paper fish to add to the 'water' in your camping area for dramatic play.

Fish Prints
This sounds 'gross', but is WAY COOL!!! Buy a fish from the meat department in the store. If doing prints on t-shirts, use fabric paint on the fish and stamp the fish onto the t-shirt (I have done these and they look AWESOME!) If you are making fish prints on paper, use regular paint.

Science Activity
Set up animal tracks on the table and have children match plastic animals or pictures to the correct tracks.

Hide sea shells in the sandbox and have the children find the treasures.

Shadow Puppets
Darken the room and use a flashlight for the children to take turns creating shadow puppets.

Special Day
Have an overnight camp out with the kids or a Camping day. Set up sleeping bags, indoor tent, fake fire (logs/blocks and red,yellow,orange tissue paper). Have an old fashioned sing-a-long around the fire - dim the lights and set up a flashlight in the centre of the fire for a night-time atmosphere. Set up the boat you made for fishing and add fishing rods with magnets. Attach paper clips to the fish the children made. Add a net and pail for scooping up and saving the fish!

place chocolate chips on a graham cracker. Add a marshmallow and microwave for a few seconds. Add a top cracker and smoosh down... yummy!
