Prop Box Idea for the Letter Hh = Hats
Fill the prop box with different types of hats and children can pretend to be who-ever they would like to be.

Make a Display Box for "Hh"
Decorate a box with the letter "Hh" theme. Inside the box place items (or pictures of items) whose names begin with Hh. Some ideas below:
Food
hotdog, hamburger, honey
Animals, Insects & Birds
hippopotamus, horse, hen, horsefly, heron
Miscellaneous
hat, hair, house, hand, hammer

Or fill an album with pictures of items that begin with the letter "Gg"


Recognizing the Letter "Hh"
Introduce the letter "Hh" to the children by showing them the printed lower and upper case Hh. Have letter Hh’s hidden in the room and let the children find them. Sound out the letter Hh and words that begin with the letter.

Horses
Make horse sock puppets.

House
Make a milk carton house. Cover with construction paper and then add details with markers or by cutting and pasting them on. You can assist children in cutting out windows and a door. A bead knotted through a hole will create a working door handle. Children can make curtains for their windows with fabric scraps. Older children may want to decorate the inside of their homes as well.

Hammer
Set out a woodworking area with hammer and nails - for younger children, set out the plastic hammer sets.

Hide 'n' Seek
Play a game of hide 'n' seek with the children.
