25 Thank Offering Book and Lectern.jpg (163449 bytes) 25 The Thank Offering Book and Lectern (North Side, Rear) In memory of Sallie Pendleton Lightburne McCready, by her son, 1920, the book is bound in cathedral purple morocco tooled in gold with a carved ivory cross and four amethysts countersunk into the cover, with marble and mosaic lectern by Gorham Company, New York. The Hamilton-Gazlay-Mead Memorial Light was given by Mrs. W. G. Hamilton & Mrs. Omar C. Mead, 1919.
26 Memorial Book and Lectern.jpg (423633 bytes) 26 The Memorial Book and Lectern (South Side, Rear) Memorial Book in memory of the Reverend James Craik and his wife Juliet Shrewsbury Craik by Miss Roberta Tyler, 1898. Carved wood lectern in memory of Columbus Brockenbrough, by his wife, 1898.
27 The Chancel.jpg (159374 bytes) 27 The Chancel is distinguished by a vaulted plaster ceiling and columns with Romanesque Revival style 'stiff leaf' capitals, added in the chancel renovations in 1893 and 1921.
28 Chancel Railing.jpg (103842 bytes) 28 The Chancel Railing was given in memory of Marion Elliot Taylor, by his wife, 1922.
29 Lectern pulpit.jpg (560622 bytes) 29 The Lectern/Pulpit "We preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus our Lord." (2 Corinthians 4:5) In memory of Thomas P. Jacob, vestryman 1867-1889, and his wife, Etta Pope Jacob, by their children, 1890. On each side of the pulpit, relief panels portray apocalyptic symbols (Ezekiel 1:10; Revelation 4:7) of the man, the lion, the ox, and the eagle that have come to symbolize the four Evangelists (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, respectively). The center panel contains the Agnus Dei, Lamb of God, carrying the banner of victory.
30 The Paschal Candle Stand, located at the font, this wrought iron and brass candle stand was designed in 1999 by Craig Kaviar using foliated brass ornament and a brass shaft taken from the former communion rail, 1897.
