Very good CFS2 Arado Ar196 floatplane. Full moving parts, open/close canopy, working rudders, excellent flight model.
Also available is scenery for use with the Arado Ar196 (or any floatplane)

The Aircraft
This is a multi res model that should not cause too much frame rate drops when more than one aircraft in the sky. [It doesn't on my computer] It has also been enhanced thanks to Bill Povins MDL patch prog. This allows for the addition of bombs. All flaps etc. work, including "/" key for sliding cockpit. To use the bombs it depends on how you have your CSF2 configured. For me I use SHIFT+3 to select bombs then £ to drop. [# for U.S. keyboard] This has to be done for each bomb, so if you miss first time around you get a second chance!
The two forward cannon (only 60 rounds each) and one forward machine gun (1000 rounds) are fired together using your cannon button. The rear facing twin machine guns (2000 rounds) are fired using the gun trigger. Why this way round? Well try using the cannon button AND the hat button together when shooting backwards! Rear guns are tilted upwards to ward off strafing planes when you are on the water.
This seaplane is just that, a seaplane with no wheels. You could try to start off from a dry runway but will not get far, so you need to start a free flight from the water, hence the scenery exe.
The Scenery
This provides a simple seaborne starting point from the island of Munda. Running the exe file should create a new scenery folder for you in your game files under SCENERYDB/SEAPLANE/SCENERY. When you run CSF2 after installing these files you will need to add the scenery in the scenery library. Once activated, selected the airfield "Seaplane Munda" DON'T BE IN A RUSH TO LOOK FROM OUTSIDE! If you do the plane will spawn up in the air and flying. Wait till you are prompted to start the engines and it should be OK. Fully laden with fuel and bombs makes it difficult to take off. Wiggle the rudder a bit, once you get started and it will roll OK. The airfield also has an ADF beacon set for 100km range on frequency 666
