B-24 "Live Wire"
This particular B24 was named "Live Wire" and served with the 320th Bomb Squadron, 90th Bomb group. The 90th BG, known as the 'Jolly Rogers', was a well known B24 group in the 5th AF. This plane had the distinction of being the last B24 shot down from the 90th BG, on 15 July. '45 over Canton, China. The group flew many different missions, starting in November of 1942. They won 2 Distinguished Unit Citations, as well as the Phillipine Presidential Unit Citation. Some of the more known bases they flew from would be Port Moresby, Dobodura, Nadzab, Biak, San Jose, Mindoro, and Ie Shima. Text and repaint by Jim Sterling. Recommended.
