Why Game Boy is the BEST SYSTEM EVER CREATED!!! By The Avardancer (Updated: March 09th, 1999) Huh? You may think I'm crazy. The first thing you probaly thought was: "How could Game Boy be the best system? I mean the NES has more games; the Playstation and N64 have great graphics. The SNES has great games. Game Gear has color, Nomad has color Genesis games, Game.com has "Internet", etc. Here in plain and simple terms is a lay-out of WHY Game Boy beats EVERY system. The system name will be given and following the system name is the reason that Game Boy and all it's incarnations (Including Super Game Boy 1, 2, Pocket, Game Boy Lite, and Game Boy Color.) is better than that system. Confused? You won't be. Playstation 2: A whole mess of Polygons don't make a system good. It's the GAMES that make a system. The PSX2 has no announced games. And from I have seen from Playstation lately; the games, when announced, won't be very Game Play oriented. They will most likely consist of lots of FMV coupled with short bursts of actual gameplay. Tsk. Tsk. For some REAL Game Play, you need to turn to Game Boy. Game Boy has the advantage; because Game Boy is portable and has tons of games. (With ACTUAL Game Play!) Sega Saturn: The Game Boy has no load time, better third party support, etc. (And the Game Boy has games scheduled up into 1999.) The Game Boy also has games by Square AND Rare, etc. Sega Game Gear: Better battery life, better games, better sound, better graphics, Super Game Boy, Four-Players, Super Game Boy 2, more games, Square, FIVE Mega Man games, Castlevania, Legend of Zelda, Street Fighter 2, Enix, Toshiden, Killer Instinct, FOUR Mortal Kombat Games, Almost every EA Strike game, Mario, Samus Aran, Kirby, Wario, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, and the list goes on. Tons of colors and types to choose from. Better Price. Game Boy Color has a bigger palette and can display 56 colors at one time compared to the Game Gears 32. NES: It barely beats the NES by having a more powerful processor, continued support by Nintendo, second-party publishers, and third party publishers. It's also portable. Nomad: Let's see. More games, ALL Game Boy's games are compatible with every version of Game Boy, the Game Boy doesn't have a bad habit of blanking out if the cartridge gets bumped, and the Game Boy has better battery life. It also has a less blurry screen. Continued support. Better price. Game.com: Game Boy has less blur, and definately more than 12 games. Game Boy has better sound, and better games. (Yeah, I really want to buy a game system that has these games as it's BIGGEST titles: Batman And Robin, Simon, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, and Lights Out.) Also try lugging that big, and bulky Game.Com around. Virtual Boy: More Games, better games, portable, better battery life. Continued support. SNES: Ah, I almost love the SNES more than Game Boy; but the SNES is now a dead system. (No more support or new software.) The only thing keeping my SNES plugged in is Square and the Super Game Boy. BTW, Game Boy has FOUR Final Fantasy games. And Link's Awakening is much deeper, and harder than Link to the Past. Also Game Boy has more Mega Man games. And sometimes the Game Boy version of a game is better than the SNES version. (That's a little sad; but the reason is because sometimes the game looks EXACTLY like the 16 bit version; but portable.) R-Zone: Can you say; MORE AND BETTER of practically EVERYTHING. Sega CD: Game Boy doesn't have horrible FMV. (Game Boy has anime. See the end of Kirby's Dreamland 2, Link's Awakening, Mole Mania, and a good deal of other games.) Game Boy has better games, more games, etc. Sega 32X: Is this spot even needed? Even Virtual Boy had better games than the 32X. N64: Square, RPGS, more games. (Though the N64 is shapeing out to be a pretty worthy opponent.) Playstation: The PSX has more games; but 83% of those games are literal feces. There are Game Boy games that have better graphics than some PSX games. There's more play value, replay value, and fun in Link's Awakening than in Final Fantasy 7. Did I forget to mention that Game Boy also has 4 Final Fantasy Games that EASILY are harder, and LONGER than FF7? Top that off with 2 Ultima Games, Sword of Hope 1 & 2, Rolan's Curse 1 & 2, Dragon Quest Monsters, several good strategy, sports, and niche titles. Also Game Boy is the ONLY system with Street Fighter 2, Killer Instinct, Toshiden, King of Fighters, and Samurai Shodown together on it's list. (NO other system has games in ALL of those fighting game series.) Did I mention Pokémon? Oh, and Game Boy doesn't skip, over-heat, drag along at a snail pace, or have memory problems. (It's also portable.) CD-i: More support, NOT dead. More games, etc. Atari Jaguar: Same as above; just add doesn't have tons of HORRIBLE games. P.C.: Better games. No glitches, load-times, memory problems, viruses, configuration problems, all Game Boy games work on EVERY Game Boy variation. Bill Gates gets NO money off Game Boy. Game Boy even has a personal operating system called the "Work Boy". (But, that neat gadget is VERY hard to find.) You can find everything that a computer has and more for Game Boy in Japan. (I'm talking printer, keyboard, scanner, the {Black-Market} Internet Text Explorer, Game Genie, Pro Action Replay, Game Wizard, Gameboy Basic, Game Boy Satellite, GB64, PC Link, Personal Organizers, Bibles, The Book of Koran, Bar-Code Battler, Various Language Transalators, Spell Checker {I need that.}, Caculator, Phone Dialer, Calander, etc.) Game Boy rarely "Crashes". (In fact, I have never seen my Game Boy crash.) Okay, so Game Boy Color games only work on Game Boy color; but we are told of this before hand. And there really is no excuse for not owning a Game Boy Color yet. Game Boy Color owns you! Turbo Graphix (All variatons.): Almost every game on the Turbo-Graphix can be found on Game Boy. Game Boy has better battery life, less blur, and more games. Net Yaroze: Everything I said about Playstation; just add that Gameboy doesn't cost $700. M2: Game Boy plays games, M2 does not. Any questions? That cheapo "Game Master" I saw in a TV commercial: Better graphics, BETTER games. (I REALLY want to play 300 slight variations of "Space Invaders".) Game Boy has a caculator, and all that other stuff too. Game Boy Pocket is smaller. Game Boy Lite is smaller AND back-lit. The Game Boy (First version and "Play it Loud" series.) could get dropped down the stairs and not broken. I dropped my Game Boy Pocket in a swimming pool once, and it still works perfect. Game Boy can stand degrees up to 60 below and still work. (I left my Game Boy over-night in the car once; and the LCD froze; but it still played and could still be seen. The graphics were four shades of blue though. I liked it actually.) Game Boy can do voice. (See a few of the EA Sports Games.) What's $30 more dollars compared to all that Game Boy has. Besides, game systems with in-built games usually have problems. Vectrex: Better graphics, more games, etc. Dreamcast: Game Boy has Square games. Game Boy has more games. 64DD: The 64DD is an add-on; not a real system. Besides with all the neat stuff that they're making for 64DC; it looks to be the perfect add-on to the Game Boy. Although.. the 64DD may never see the light of day.. Neo Geo Pocket: Neo Geo Pocket can display 100+ colors. Game Boy Color can be tricked into displaying over 200+ Any questions? Oh, Game Boy Color has better games. Wonder Swan: It's black and white. We all live in Color now. Commodore 64: Umm. Game Boy has games still being made for it. Macintosh: Game Boy has more games. ;) Project X: Game Boy isn't vaporware and has games. Nuon: Game Boy has games. Nuon... doesn't. Is Nuon even a console? Any more?
