Adventure Island 2 Game by Hudson Soft. Review by The Avardancer Size: 2 Megabits Save: Password Released: 1993 Works with: Any version of Gameboy Opening Snide Remarks: You are Master Higgins. Some aliens stole your honey. Anyone notice that Master Higgins is like some kind of an island pimp? I mean it, in every game the girl on the cover (Or in the game) looks different. I think that Master Higgins is in the hero biz for more than casual action. And his name even sounds pimpish. "Master Higgins" sounds like the name of a rap artist. (I'm Master Higgins and I wear grass clothes. The chicks all dig me, that's the way it goes. I throw hammers like a Koopa Troopa Freak, and you can beat my games easy. 'Cause the challenge is weak.) Go see Master Higgins on his tour with Busta Rhymes, and Master P later. (With special guests Lil' Kim, and Usher. Featuring Master Higgins hit songs: "Make my game easy." "Island Princesses are fly.", and "Whack 'Em wit' a hamma." Featuring End-time Ghetto supastar O.D.B.) Gameplay: Snore. Oh, I beat it already? Okay, the gameplay? It is a mixture of Super Mario World elements, entertwined with the ability to choose your weapons before entering a level. There are secrets; but they aren't too hard to find. The levels are fairly straight forward, with little variety. This is average, buddy. Graphics: The graphics are a little larger than the first game; but they are still quite average. Master Higgins seems to have gained weight. He still looks like a fat guy in a diaper. ('Nuff said.) Sound: Generic. Unoriginal, need I go on? Music: Happy music for those on Prozac. Play Control: Slides, and is overall not responsive enough. Final Analysis; Did you buy Adventure Island? If you did, get this game. It's much better than it's ancestor. Do you like a quick side-scrolling fix? Then this is worthy purchase for those who casually enjoy games. The difficulty is just right for non-expert players. If you have enough money for only one game right now. (You'd be surprised how many people don't have at least $30.) You would do better to get a game like Wario Land 2, Kirby's Dreamland 2, Metroid, or Mega Man instead of this game. This is a very generic game. But even as generic as it is; like most rap music... err. video games.. it is good in it's own way and definately worthy of a chance.
