Aladdin Game by THQ Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Size: 2 Megabits Save: None Released: 1993 Works with: all Gameboy versions Opening Snide Remarks: Can a game based on a movie be any good? I hope so. Gameplay: The gameplay in this game sucks. Plain and simple. You have to get from point A to point B, to go to the next stage. Aladdin's only weapon is to throw apples. This is very lame. When you hit an enemy, they freeze, and can't be hit again for about 3 seconds. This is very stupid. The entire game feels like it is running in slow-motion. They should have tried to get the frame rate a little higher. Graphics: The graphics are decently done. I can't help but wonder if this is what causes the game to run so poorly. The characters are not huge. They're not very detailed either. Aladdin does move very realistically. There are some great looking cinema screens, as well. Sound: There's nothing special about the sound effect. They get the job done but that's about all that they do. Music: The music is the only bright spot. When the game starts, the song "A Whole New World" plays and it does sound really good. The in-game music is almost as good. Play Control: The absolute worst thing about this game is the control. Aladdin plays as if he is running with lead boots on. He walks very slow. But when he jumps, he floats in the air. It's very lame. When you try to jump and grab a rope, you will get very annoyed beacause it will take you a long time to do it. Final Analysis: This game is horrible. Do not buy this game. I paid 15 bucks and I still feel like I got screwed. Score Gameplay: * Graphics: ** Sound: ** Music: *** Play Control: 0 Total: 8 out of 25 Final Score: 32 % Currently Known Codes: None
