AlleyWay By Nintendo Review by The Avardancer Size: 512 Kilobits Save: None Released: 1989 Works with: Any version of Gameboy Opening Snide Remarks: This is Break Out with Mario. I don't see anything else in it's future.. Gameplay: Hit the ball and break a block. Clear all the blocks and you go to the next level. There's an infinite amount of levels. This game is dull, easy, and strangely addictive. You want to stop playing; but you can not. At least at first; you will find yourself strangely hypnotized by the motion of the ball. This is an odd bird of a game. It's fun; but it's not fun. Strange. Graphics: Simple. very simple. There's nothing to write home about. The ball is a little small though. (No one wants to play with small balls. Umm. Forget I said that.) Sound. Plink. Plunk. Plink. Plink-a. Plink-a. Plink-a. Plink. Plunk. Boom. That is all the sounds you'll here. Music: Very little music. There's an intro song, and a little bit of music when you lose, enter a bonus stage, or beat a level. What is there is good and that's all. Play Control: Play control slides. It's also a tad akward at times; and a little unresponsive. Final Analysis: It is actually a little fun and easy to pick up and play. It's worth the entire eight dollars that I bought it for. If you love Break-out or Arankanoid. This is "poor man's Arankanoid". It's a little bit of a time waster. If you really want to enjoy this title; pop it into your Super Gameboy and play it with a fighting game joystick. It'll feel just like an old arcade game. I still haven't figured out why I will turn it on and play for hours. Maybe it's got subliminal messages. Gameplay: ** Graphics: ** Sound:0 Music: ** Play Control: *** Total: 9 out of 25 Final Grade: 36% Known Codes: None.
