Bionic CommandoGame By: Capcom Reviewed by: jphunt jphunt@mail2.caninet.com Size: 2 meg (guess) Save: Password Feature Released: 1992 Works with all Game Boys Opening Snide Remarks: After some time going nuts waiting for a sequal for the original NES Bionic Commando, we finally (sorta) got it. Unfortunately at first it appeared we got a game boy remake based on the plot, but once you dive in you'll see this is truly a new adventure. Gameplay: If you've played Bionic Commando for the NES (And shame on you if you haven't.) :) You'll know exactly how this game plays. If you don't know it's fun, suspenseful, but at times frustrating if you mis-time your wire shot over a chasm. Graphics: Capcom really did a good job here: character's have good detail, animation is smooth, and the backgrounds keep a good atmosphere for the different areas. The Blue and Green palettes on Game Boy Color work well here. Sound: For you BC fans, the sound is tried and true to the original. Every action has it's own clear distinct sound. Music: Here's on game that you might want to try hooking up the stereo too. The music is terrific. There's one or two remixes from the original NES game as well. Play Control: Identical to the NES version It's smooth, fluid and responsive. It may take a moment to realize you can't jump and that start activates your special inventory. Final Analysis: I've always enjoyed Bionic Commando and this installment lives up to the name. I'd have to warn that if your a veteran to B.C games you may finish it in a day or two, their are quite a few levels but the tricks that worked in the original will work here to. Score Gameplay: **** Graphics: **** Sound: **** Music: ***** Play Control: ***** Final Score: 88% Currently known codes: If you need to escape an area for whateever reason simultaneusly hold: START + B + A to return to the helicopter.
