Bases Loaded GB Game by Jaleco Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Size: 1 Megabit Save: None Released: 1990 Works with: all Gameboy versions Opening Snide Remarks: Bases Loaded was one of my favorite games on the NES. I hope the Game Boy version is as good. Gameplay: The gameplay in this game isn't too bad. This game is basically Nintendo's Baseball for Game Boy but on steroids. This game is somewhat similar in appearance but plays much better. This baseball game is actually playable which is something that Nintendo's Baseball wasn't. Graphics: The graphics are okay for a first-generation Game Boy game. The players are short and squatty. There isn't a radar so that you can see where your players are if they are not currently on the screen. Sound: The sound in this game is very good. The sound of the ball coming off of the bat when it is hit is very realistic. The crowd gets louder when there is an exciting play. Music: There is some very good music in this game. The music plays throughout the entire game, but you can turn it off if it is not to your liking. Play Control: Bases Loaded has some very simple control. When you're batting you can't move in the batter's box. When you move your fielders they all move together. The controls are not very good but they are playable. Final Analysis: Bases Loaded is a decent baseball game for the Gameboy. It's not perfect, but the controls do suck.
