Batman Forever Game by Acclaim. Review by The Avardancer Size: 2 Megabits Save: None. Released: 1996 Works with: Any version of Gameboy Opening Snide Remarks: The Batman liscense has always stunk on every system; but Gameboy. The first Gameboy Batman game was great. The second Batman game; entitled Return of the Joker was better. Batman: The Animated Series for Gameboy is THE best Batman game on ANY system. Let's see how this fourth Batman game measures up. Gameplay: Think a sidescrolling Mortal Kombat; but don't think Mortal Kombat Mythologies. This plays how Mortal Kombat Mythologies should have. You walk around, beat someone up, and then you walk around some more. I wish there were more enemies. (I can't believe I said that.) The enemies have really stupid names like "Feeler", "Saddo", and "Jerry". It's actually kind of fun. Graphics: The animation is smooth and motion captured. The backgrounds and characters are fully rendered and easy to see. The graphics are a little small; but it's okay. The enemies celebrate if the beat you. It's a little cheesy. Sound: Basic generic sounds for punching and hitting; not much else. Music: Good actually. the game trys to sound like the movie and it does a pretty good job. Play Control; Why doesn't Mortal Kombat have this good play control? You can use Mortal Kombat-esque type moves. (Use controller combinations to find special moves.) Down + Punch gives you an uppercut, use it. Final Analysis: It's an okay game; but I expected more. I'll stick to Batman: The Animated Series. But, you should give it a try.
