Bubble Bobble Part 2: Rainbow Islands. Game By Taito Review by The Avardancer Size: 2 Megabits Save: Password, symbolic, alphanumeric, 4 charaters Released: 1993 Works with: Any version of Gameboy Opening Snide Remarks: Bub and Bob are back again and they want to blow you and thier enemies away.... with bubbles. (What were you expecting? This isn't Contra.) Gameplay: Check it out! There's now an actual point to the game. (Sort of.) Rescue some people from some evil being and beat up a bunch of evil baddies to advance from level to level. Make sure that you pick up some extra items too; so you can get the best ending. This is platform action; but it's not a Mario-type game; it plays like the old Bubble Bobble Arcade game; but with more moves; and more to do. And it plays better; it's Bubble Bobble to the second power. It's also a little easier; seeing as you don't die after one hit like before. Now, you have a life meter. Graphics: Much better than the first game; and they look good on any version of Gameboy. It's good to know that the animation, and detail has been greatly improved. Sound: It's clearer; but it's not spectacular. Music: Annoying. Amazing that they could make the music WORSE in the sequel. Play Control: Lots of moves and they aren't hard to do. Final Analysis: If you liked the first; you should leap at the sequel; it plays better; but for the sake of all humanity, please turn down the volume. Score Gameplay: ***** (5 out of 5) Graphics: ***** (5 out of 5) Sound: *** (3 out of 5) Music: ** (2 out of 5) Play Control: **** (4 out of 5) Total: (19 X 4 = 76) Final Score = 76% Currently Known Codes STAGE SELECT For your password, put in "(Right Arrow) 5 (Right Arrow) V."
