Choplifter II Game By: Broderbund Software/JVC Reviewed By: jphunt jphunt@mail2.caninet.com Size: 1/2 meg (guess) Save: Password Released: 1991 Works with: All Gameboys Opening Snide Remarks: A Search and Rescue game, I liked the original lets see if this sequel measures up. ---------- Gameplay: Initially it's fun, but basically your just doing the same thing over and over: go in rescue hostage get out and repeat. It may get old quickly for some people. Fans of the original should have no trouble with it. Liked: Retains the classic structure while adding a few extras. Hated: It's preety much the same as the original. ---------- Graphics: Standard graphics, nothing really special, there is some blurring in the sky objects while in motion so it may be difficult to see hazards. Liked: Nothing too difficult to see. Hated: Bland, nothing eye catching, seen a lot better for the year this was released. ---------- Sound/Music: OK, but nothing to really talk about, music doesn't quite fit and can get annoying after while. Sound seems to have been sampled from the old Atari tank games. This could have been a lot better. There is an option to turn them off seperately. Liked: Nothing to say here. Hated: Can get annoying, turn it down or turn it off. ---------- Play Control/Game Design: Control is rather ackward having to double tap to turn the helicopter around, this makes bombing difficult since its easy to overturn. Basic game design, see Gameplay for more. Liked: Again, nothing to say here. Hated: Frustration sets in easy when you do one thing and the game does another. ---------- Improve: Play control can use a little tweaking, and the music and sound can use an overhaul. RIYL: Try before you buy if you can, otherwise only get it if you like the original. ---------- Final Words: I expected more of this game, its alright, but it just more of the same. ---------- Score Gameplay: *** Graphics: *** Sound/Music: ** Play Control/Game Design: ** Personal Opinion: *** Total: 13 Final Score: 52% ---------- Currently Known Codes: None
