Daruman Busters Game by Banpresto Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Size: 512 kilobits? Save: None Released: 1991 Works with: all Gameboy versions **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: I knew nothing about this game before I bought it. I always wanted to own an import game and this looked pretty neat. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: DB is a strange puzzle game. The point of the game is to match up tiles on which enemies are standing. When you make matches the tiles disappear and the point is to make the enemies touch the bottom of the screen. When that's done you go to the next level. The tiles are shot from the left and right of the screen. This is a great way to make a puzzler. Liked: Unique gameplay. Hated: Frustrating Bosses. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: DB has some really good graphics for a puzzle game. The enemies are cool-looking and nicely drawn. There's a lot of stuff going on on the screen with absolutely no slowdown. Liked: Great graphics. Hated: All of the levels look similar. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: The music in DB is excellent. There are 2 types of music to choose from and both are great. The sound fx are great, as well. Liked: Great music. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: DB has perfect controls. The controls are so simple that anyone can play this game. The game design is great, as well. When you can't complete a level it's not because the game's cheating, it's because you need to practice. Liked: Sweet control. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Improve: Color graphics. RIYL: Shanghai Pocket, Baku Baku (Sega Saturn) **************************************************************************** Final Words: Daruman Busters is one of the most unique puzzle games ever made. It's a shame that this game never made it to these shores, other than by being imported. Videogame companies should wake up and bring this game to the U.S. They would make tons of money because Daruman Busters is a rare game. Daruman Busters is perfect!!! **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: ***** Graphics: ***** Sound/Music: ***** Play Control/Game Design: ***** Personal Opinion: ***** Total: 25 out of 25 Final Score: 100 % **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None
