Elevator Action Game by Natsume Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Size: 512 Kilobits Save: None Released: 1991 Works with: all Gameboy versions Opening Snide Remarks: I used to love Elevator Action in the arcades. I only hope that the Gameboy port can live up to the arcade game's legacy. Gameplay: Elevator Action is a fairly simple game. You have to find all of the floppy disks hidden in the level, then exit the level through the basement, while avoiding gunfire and dispatching enemies. You can pick up power-ups such as shotguns, machine guns, and hand-grenades. The Game Boy version seems a little tougher than the arcade classic, but it could just appear that way because I have gotten worse through the years. Graphics: The graphics in Elevator Action are decent, but the main character and his enemies are short and squatty. The backgrounds are very simple, as well. Sound: This game contains textbook Game Boy sounds. If you have played a Game Boy game before, then you have already heard this game before. Music: The music in Elevator Action is decent. It is textbook Game Boy music. Play Control: This game controls rather well. The main character can move, jump, fire his weapon, and duck. That's all, but that's all that is needed. My only gripe is that I wish that your character could jump a little higher. Final Analysis: Elevator Action is an excellent conversion of an arcade classic. This game comes highly recommended.
