Earthworm Jim Game by Shiny Reviewed by Adrock gbcam@hotmail.com Size: 1 megabit Save: None Released: 1995 Works with: Any Game Boy **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: The Super NES game was cool... If you had codes. It was real tough for me. It's a platformer in a wicked cartoonist's disguise. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: The game retains some of it's Super NES roots. It's fun to play. Most of the levels remain intact. Lots of secrets and stuff for you to find, plus bonus rooms. It's really hard and frustating in the later levels. You gotta love the funksy design of the levels and dark humor and gags. Liked: Super NES and Genesis elements are there. Hated: Not all the levels. Hard as heck to play! **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: Looks great, it can compete with the 16-bit versions in a snap. It also looks how it feels. And it feels like butter. Liked: Looks great. Hated: Some enemies are hard to see. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: The music does a good job of sounding like the 16-bit games. The sound effects are pretty cool, too. The gun actually sounds like a gun. Wow. Liked: Sounds great, funky music and sound FX. Hated: Some sound FX could be added to make it more funny. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: The game plays like butter. But using you whip and your gun is both set to B. It can conflict sometimes. Liked: Nice control overall. Hated: Lack of buttons makes B both whip and shoot. It's the whip if you're moving, and the gun if you're standing still. **************************************************************************** Improve: A Game Boy Color version with EJ 1 & 2 would be nice. RIYL: The SNES versions, Aladdin for Genesis and GB. **************************************************************************** Final Words: It's an OK game, just go to GameSages first. Heh heh. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: **** Graphics: **** Sound/Music: *** Play Control/Game Design: **** Personal Opinion: *** Total: 18 out of 25 Final Score: %72 **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None.
