Frogger Game by Hasbro, Majesco Reviewed by Adrock gbcam@hotmail.com Size: 8 Megabits Save: No Released: 1998 Works with: All Game Boys, Color Enhanced **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: The "new" Frogger, that appears on PC and PSX, is awesome. This game is not. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: You play just like the original arcade versions... cross the road, cross the lake, get the target. You can play one or two players. Um, that is about all I can say. Liked: Stays remiscent of arcade, would be great if not for all the problems... (see below.) Hated: Gets boring. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: Pitiful. Little stills show a frog raising signs that say what menu you are in. Gameplay graphics are WAY, WAY, WAY, WAY TOO SMALL to possibly enjoy. (Am I dead yet?) The graphics look not like the old arcade game, but instead like a rip of the 3d version. Liked: They took the time to add color. Hated: So small that play is impossible. Needs a full view and zoom view, like Pac-Man. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: Don't even ask. They probably had a six year old bang on the MIDI keyboard, because their original Music Designer had the day off. Sound FX range from None to Extremely Bad. Liked: Nothing. Hated: Bad Music. Bad FX. Bad. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: Play Control and small graphics ruin this game bad. Jump and target detection is awful. Liked: Nothing. Hated: There is better control on a road frozen solid with a Geo Metro than in this game. **************************************************************************** Improve: Zoom view. More types of levels. Better move detection. RIYL: The other versions of Frogger. **************************************************************************** Final Words: It's sad that there is not a decent version of Frogger out there for GB, because if it was made correctly, it would be a nice addition to the GB Library. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: ** Graphics: * Sound/Music: 0 Play Control/Game Design: 0 Personal Opinion: 0 Total: 3 Final Score: %12 **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None.
