Opening Snide Remarks: Hmm. Gameboy in COLOR. I must say. After 10 years... it's about DAMN time! (Sorry for the use of profanity.) Well, I hope this is a good thing... Impressions: The system itsself looks like it always did; it's a little bit longer than Gameboy Pocket and it seems to have developed a "butt". (Because of the two AA batteries it uses.) The system has an Infrared Data port on the top of it and it has a Game Link port, AC adaptor port, Volume control, a notch for a wrist strap, an on-off switch on the side (!!), and a headphone jack. The system has a Color LCD reflective screen and is not back-lit. It features color pallettes for old games that can be selected by pushing the control pad and/or the A and B buttons. New Gameboy Color games have thier own colors. The system assaigns a color to the background and character sprites in a game for the old games. Liked: I like the feel of the Gameboy Color; I like the color; I like pushing Down and B when the Gameboy start-up screen appears to make Mega Man always be Blue. :) I like the speed that it transfers things. I can print out a Gameboy Camera picture with the printer in half the normal time. :) The system is also compatible with the Gameboy Camera, Game Shark, Game Genie, and the Gameboy Pocket AC Adaptor. You can also use unauthorized games and other neat-o stuff that you shouldn't. :) I like the fact that the screen is sharper and that by pushing Left and B on any of the old games; you can play in black and white. (Nostalgia.) Hated: The screen is not back lit; it doesn't use SGB palettes and it has problems with the old game "Pac-Man" by Namco. You see, the sound in that game buzzes and than mutes itsself. Hmm. No other game does this; just the original version of Pac-Man. Tsk. Tsk. The Wrist strap notch doesn't look very stable. Some of the pre-determined palettes are just bad ; so you can and should change them. Final Words: You know A.J.? There are just five words I want to hear from you. Those words are "I will buy one, sir." By the way, stay away from my daughter. Why are you still reading this? Don't you get it? You NEED a Gameboy Color. It owns you! Score: 97%
