Gremlings 2: The New Batch Game by Sunsoft Reviewed by Adrock gbcam@hotmail.com Size: 512 Kilobits Save: None Released: 1991 Works with: Any Game Boy **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: Gizmo was the original Furby. This game is based on the movie. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: Your average movie-licensed platformer. It's kind of fun to play, though. Looking at little Gizmo, the hero of the game, encourages you to play on because he is so cute. Like a Pikachu. You fight with a little pencil and whack enemies with it. You crawl inside a little toolbox/suitcase thingy to get invincible. And, you use a boombox to get a little song note to shoot at people. Liked: It's fun the first time around, and it's got that cute little hero. Hated: You probably will get bored with it once the fun wears off. Give it to a friend and let them experience the joy of Gizmo. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: The graphics look average. They made Gizmo look really cool, though, even when you're playing. Liked: Cute look and OK enemies. Hated: Average, uninspired look to the levels. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: I want to say that this game has uninspired songs, but I'm not. They were pretty cool, because they were upbeat and fun. The sound FX are OK, too. Liked: Music is fun. Hated: I'm sure most won't like the sound as much as I did. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: Of course, jumping and hit detection are always way off in a platformer based on a movie. But in this game the controls are bearable. Liked: Controls will at least get you through the game. Hated: Poor hit detection and weird jumping. **************************************************************************** Improve: I thought the NES version was better because it was overhead. And it was big, big enough that you needed a password. RIYL: Platformers. **************************************************************************** Final Words: Don't buy it. Just play someone else's copy. It's fun but it's not worth buying. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: *** Graphics: *** Sound/Music: *** Play Control/Game Design: ** Personal Opinion: ** Total: 13 out of 25 Final Score: %52 **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None.
