Kirby's Block Ball by Nintendo/Hal Labs Reviewed by Josh Nickerson E-Mail: joshnickerson@hotmail.com Size: 8 Megabits Save: Battery, 3 slots Released: 1996 Works with: Any version of Gameboy Opening Snide Remarks: Kirby must defeat King Dedede by bouncing off walls in this blatant rip-off of Arkanoid. Gameplay section: You start out by bouncing Kirby off one wall with a single paddle. Gradually, you end up controlling two, three and four paddles, each on a different wall! You will also find bonus rounds and special powers to help you get ahead. To open up the final level, you must beat a preset score called a Borderline. Graphics: The graphics are very simple and basically hold overs from every other Kirby adventure. Amazingly, this game is the first 8-Meg GameBoy game. It's nice on Super GB. Sound: Your basic Kirby ping and boing sounds. Music: Nice music keeps the pace moving. Play Control: The control pad controls all four paddles, and the A-B buttons control your bounce. Simple. Final Analysis: Better than Kirby's Pinball Land, the only thing that hurts Block Ball is it's almost impossible Borderline Score Goals. Score Gameplay: **** Graphics: *** Sound: ** Music: *** Play Control: **** Final Score: 64% Currently Known Codes: Get first place score on Level 11 to open up a Bonus Practice.
