Paperboy Game by Mindscape Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Size: 1 Megabit Save: None Released: 1990 Works with: all Gameboy versions Opening Snide Remarks: An classic arcade game makes it's Game Boy debut. Will it become a classic as well? Gameplay: Paperboy is a classic game with old-school gameplay. You are the Paperboy and you are to deliver newspapers to the paper's subscribers. You must avoid obstacles and hindrances such as bee swarms, the grim reaper, stray dogs, kids in go-karts, skateboarders, and many others. Graphics: The graphics are decent, but that's about it. The paperboy character is small and not very detailed, his enemies are small and less detailed. Sound: The sound effects are okay. There are the same sound effects if you get hurt by bees or a dog. Music: The music in this game is pitiful. There is only one song in the game and it repeats over and over. Play Control: This is the one area that this game totally gets right. The controls of Paperboy are simple, but not too simple. The joypad controls your direction and the "A" button throws papers. The control is done very well and is arcade perfect. Final Analysis: If you like simple games where the only point is to get a high score then this game is for you. If you want a game with a long quest, look elsewhere.
