Prince of Persia Game by Virgin/Broderbund Reviewed by Adrock gbcam@hotmail.com Size: 512 Kilobits Save: Password Released: 1991 Works with: Any Game Boy **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: Liked Out of this World? Flashback? It's the same kind of deal here. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: The game is like this. You try to get as far as you can through the level. You WILL make mistakes. Especially if you just started playing. But that's what they want you to do. They give you another try. And you learn fromthe mistake you made last time, avoid it, and move a little further. Bo-ring. At least to me. If you're an absolute fanatic of this trial-and-error kind of platformer, than this is a worthy game. But I'd rather play it on a PC. Liked: Sometimes you'll get real far, and you'll get real happy for a while. Hated: Annoying play that only frustrated the heck out of me. Play it on a PC instead. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: Nothing to shout about. It follows suit with O.O.T.W. and Flashback. Liked: The way is uses polygons as well as sprites gives it some depth. Hated: Average looking. No eye-popping here. It's all about gameplay. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: For the most part, turn it down. Way down. Liked: An OK little russian tune at the beginning. Hated: Once in play, bleeps, bloops... It's horrible. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: Slow. It only does half of what you press. You'll find yourself making the same mistakes over and over because of faulty control. Liked: Control is not lifelike, like the programmers supposedly intend it to be. If I jumped like that, I'd get an F in Gym for sure. Hated: A lot. **************************************************************************** Improve: Better controls. They need a new engine of play before they try to make a game like this again. RIYL: Out of this World, Flashback. **************************************************************************** Final Words: Fans of the genre will like it a little, but much less than they do the PC versions. Anyone else, don't get it. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: ** Graphics: ** Sound/Music: * Play Control/Game Design: * Personal Opinion: * Total: 5 out of 25 Final Score: %20 **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None.
