Personal Organizer "Productivity Software" by Infogenius Review by Adrock gbcam@hotmail.com Size: 512 Kilobits Save: Battery Released: 1990 Works with: Any Gameboy Version. **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: For you Y2K activists (and there are a lot of you), this game's clock will go up to 2099 (obviously Bill Gates, the one everyone is pointing the finger at for the Y2K crisis, had no involvement in the Game Boy Personal Organizer.) **************************************************************************** Usage: A nice little thing. You already own a Game Boy, right? So there's no point in shelling out bucks for one of those big organizers with limited memory. Get it on a little cart instead. There's an 800-Number directory (most of them probably changed or re-directed by now), a regular phone directory (editable), a calendar, a calculator, a notepad (8 lines), world time (for time zones and daylight savings), and an appointment manager. This thing lacks the translators and a Spell Checker. You'll have to buy them seperately. At an eye's glance, the user base seems limited. No scientific calculator option, thus no help in Algebra, Geometry, Calculus or Trigonometry. You know what would be cool? Since Graphing Calculators cost so darn much, why don't they make one of those for Game Boy? That would be real helpful. The people at Texas Instruments could get together with Nintendo to make the TI-GB! That would be real cool, since those things cost about 50-100 bucks, and a cart would only cost about $20. But, anyways, back to the review. The menu systems are controlled by a cursor and a keyboard. The keyboard is layed out in ABC order, not QWERTY. When turned on, the game will ask you for the date and time, because there is no in builtclock. **************************************************************************** Visibility: Simple menus. Easy to see on any Game Boy. Cool little scenes for each month on the calendar. When entering and exiting menus, the fade out thing is pretty cool. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music: Beeps and bloops... You won't need it, so just turn it off. There is only one song. DOES THIS THING NEED SONGS?! NO! IT DOESN'T! But they put one in anyways. It's on the title screen. **************************************************************************** Navigation: After using Game Boy Camera for a while, this thing will seem pretty wacky. Start is to exit, not B. Weird. But you'll get it after a while. **************************************************************************** Improve: Where are the translators, and the spell checker? And I don't see a dictionary or a thesaurus anywhere. A GBC version with all this stuff, Infared Link, Game Link, and Printer Compatability would be nice. Recommend If You Like: Come on, now. No one likes to do work. But this does make doing it more fun. **************************************************************************** Final Analysis: If you can find this thing, don't waste your money. I'm sure a GBC version is soon to come. But if you can't wait, go ahead. **************************************************************************** Score: Usage: *** Visibility: ***** Sound/Music: * Navigation: **** Personal Opinion: **** Total: 17 out of 25 Final Score: 68% **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes:I should smack you.
