Spy VS. Spy (Original) Game by Kemco Reviewed by Adrock gbcam@hotmail.com Size: 1 megabit Save: Password, 3 characters Released: 1992 Works with: Any Game Boy **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: I found this game a long time ago at Wal-Mart for a price of $10. I decided it would be a cool buy since I liked the NES version so much. Much to my surprise, it was nothing like the NES version. Now that the GBC version is coming out (which will be like the NES version), I decided to set people straight on this game. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: Ugh, it's horrid. You pick your spy. Then, you get a mission from your captain. You play in these tropical outdoors levels. Your traps are: 1. Put a bomb in one of the chests. 2. Throw something into one of the sky hazards. There is not too much variety between the levels. To win, you have to get all of the objective balls, and the briefcase. Liked: There is a tutorial. Hated: Sometimes the action picks up, but most of the time, you get screwed, it's a pretty lame game. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: There is a small bit of level variety, but not much. No real eye candy in the game. Some of the actions of the characters are funny. Punching looks really weird. Liked: Funny at times. The General guy has a big chin. Hated: Not much level variety. Punching looks ugly. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: The songs are pretty good, really. They fit the themes of the levels. You might be humming them after you play. Liked: The songs are OK, and the FX are good as well. Hated: Some FX are lackluster. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: Jumping and punching controls very poorly. If you have less energy, you will move very slowly. Most of the time, the matches are one-sided, especially when against the CPU. Liked: Nothing. Hated: The controls are very bad. **************************************************************************** Improve: Let's see what the GBC version can do. RIYL: Wasting your time. **************************************************************************** Final Words: This game gets boring quick. The feel of it has merit at first, but there's just not enough variety to keep things interesting. Do something else with your $10. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: ** Graphics: ** Sound/Music: *** Play Control/Game Design: * Personal Opinion: ** Total: 10 Final Score: %40 **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes:
