Tennis (Import) Game by Nintendo Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Size: 512 Kilobits Save: None Released: 1989 Works with: all Gameboy versions **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: I really liked Tennis on the NES and Mario's Tennis on the Virtual Boy, so I figured I'd like Tennis on the Game Boy, as well. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: Tennis is a tennis game. Suprise, surprise. It plays pretty much like tennis. It's a very simple tennis game that anyone will enjoy. It's pretty good. Liked: It's a well-done tennis game. Hated: I like Mario's Tennis better. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: Tennis has some pretty good graphics. When you put it in a Super Game Boy or a Game Boy Color, it automatically picks the correct palette. The green grass really looks nice. It's very colorful. You're missing out if you don't play this game on a GBC. Liked: Cool color graphics. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: The music in Tennis is pretty much just standard video game music. It doesn't really sound like tennis music. Thesound fx are okay. The crowd fx are great. Liked: Sound fx made by the crowd. Hated: Sorry music. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: The control in Tennis is good, but your player moves a little sluggishly. The game design is okay, but I feel that this game is over simplified. Liked: Good controls. Hated: Simplified too much. **************************************************************************** Improve: Make this game like Mario's Tennis. RIYL: Mario's Tennis, Tennis (NES), Virtual Open Tennis (Saturn) **************************************************************************** Final Words: Tennis is the best Game Boy tennis game that I've played. Of course, it the only GB tennis game that I've played. There are better tennis games on other systems, so you might want to save your money for one of those. By the way, there's no Japanese text in this game, so you won't miss anything if you get the import version. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: *** Graphics: **** Sound/Music: ** Play Control/Game Design: ** Personal Opinion: *** Total: 14 out of 25 Final Score: 56 % **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: None.
