Tetris Plus Game by Jaleco Tetris Concept by The Tetris Company Review by The Avardancer Size: 4 megabits Save: Battery, 1 slot Released: 1997 Works with: Any version of Gameboy Opening Snide Remarks: My gosh. Won't Tetris ever die? I mean, the game has mutated more than Michael Jackson. Is this another lame Tetris clone? Let us see. Let us see. (Isn't that the end of the "Bitter Butter Battle" by Doctor Suess? Oh, never mind. Didn't mean to spoil it for you...) Gameplay: There's Classic Tetris and there's also a strange hybrid game where you must clear lines to help a Mario look-alike guy to the bottom of the screen. You have a limited amount of time to do this; because a huge, deadly, and ugly looking saw is coming down. Don't ley it slash the Mario look-alike guy! (Gee. How violent.) The normal Tetris game plays a little slower than the original Tetris game on Gameboy. There's also a two-player versus mode. Graphics: They're easy to see; but the blocks are slightly smaller than the ones in the first Tetris. Which is a downside; and the play field is smaller. Oh, yeah, it has Super Gameboy enhancements; but they really don't save it. Sound: Ugh. Even the basic "THUD" sounds muted and dull. Music: Ack. Cough. Urgh. I'm dying! Must stop dang elevator music! Repetitive, annoying, only uses like ONE channel of sound. Play it MUTED!! Play control: This game has less control than a drunk freshman. What a dark page in Tetris history. Final Analysis: It's got two games in one. This Tetris saves your scores and that is a plus. But, other than that. There's not much redeeming about this game. Get the ORIGINAL Tetris and even think about taking this waste of the Tetris liscense home. Note to Alex; "Don't throw around a title like Tetris on any old bunk." Score Gameplay: * Graphics: * Sound: 0 Music: 0 Play Control: * Total: 3 out of 25 Final score: 12% Currently Known Codes: How to make Tetris Plus fun: Look at the top of your Gameboy. See the switch? Slide the switch to the OFF position, and remove the Tetris Plus game pak. Now, go play outside, read a book, or put in a different game pak.
