Turok: Battle of the Bionosaurs Game by Acclaim Reviewed by Robby Cox koi@magicnet.net Size: 2 Megabits Save: PasswordReleased: 1997 Works with: all Gameboy versions **************************************************************************** Opening Snide Remarks: I really liked the N64 version of Turok. After buying this game, I hope it is at least half as good as the original. **************************************************************************** Gameplay Descripion: Turok plays a lot like the classic game Contra. The big difference is that instead of the strictly run & gun gameplay of Contra, you have to run & gun and collect keys. Collect all of the keys, then enter the warp gate to go to the next level. Liked: Run & Gun style of play. Hated: Having to get keys. **************************************************************************** Graphics Description: Turok's graphics are decent, but that's all. Turok is small as are the enemies. The lanscapes look pretty nice, though. Liked: The landscapes. Hated: Nothing, really. **************************************************************************** Sound/Music Description: Turok has some fairly standard Game Boy sound fx, but it also has some really good music. Liked: The music. Hated: Nothing. **************************************************************************** Play Control/Game Design: Turok's controls are really good. You can jump, shoot, and select weapons all on the fly. The game design could use a little work by losing the keys. (This was thankfully fixed in Turok 2) Liked: The Controls Hated: Having to get the keys. **************************************************************************** Improve: Lose the keys. (Corrected in Turok 2) RIYL: Turok 2, Contra, and Mischief Makers. **************************************************************************** Final Words: Turok is a great game that I was really impressed with. I was expecting a second-rate game based around a big-name license, but I was wrong. **************************************************************************** Score Gameplay: **** Graphics: *** Sound/Music: **** Play Control/Game Design: **** Personal Opinion: **** Total: 19 out of 25 Final Score: 76 % **************************************************************************** Currently Known Codes: Level 2-GRZNNPCRDB Level 3-DVZNDPCRNB
