Waverace Game by Nintendo Review by The Avardancer Size: 2 Megabits Save: Battery Released: 1992 Works with: Any version of Gameboy Opening Snide Remarks: This isn't like the N64 version; it's the original game. In other words, the N64 version is a sequel to this game. And the two are completely different from each other. This game also supports the 4-player adaptor for Gameboy. Gameplay: A mite tough, the computer cheats, and it's akward driving around those bouys. The power-ups make little sense and the Turbo button is a needed tool. But, there's two types of gameplay modes and a lot of tracks. A practice mode is included and is the best part of the game. The game also features a four-player, two-player mode as well. The game requires you to pass each of the little "bouys" that you encounter on a certain side. If you fail to do that; it's game over. You must also come in either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. The game plays a little like a watery "R.C. Pro Am"; but not a s much fun. :( Graphics: The graphics are small; but they do the trick. You can see your opponents, and the water, buoys, etc. The graphics blur a bit on a normal Gameboy and they really are not at all impressive in any way. The game is a little sparse graphics wise; as there's lots of water and not mucj detail in that. Sound: Annoying engine drone. Turn down the sound. Music: A little music is in the game; but it's annoying and another good reason to play with the volume OFF! Play Control: Tight and fantastically realistic. For example; when you hit a ramp; hold the control pad in the opposite direction of the way you are facing to pull the machines nose upward to fly farther. Final Analysis: The four player Game link game is the bomb; but the one player modes are a little stale. Buy it if you have friends and the gear for some fun four-play! (Umm. four-playER.) Score Gameplay: **** Graphics: *** Sound: * Music: * Play Control: ***** Total: 14 out of 25 Final Score 46% Currently Known Codes None.
