Tennessee wins on Holdsclaw's big day

Chamique Holdsclaw had a little extra bounce in her step Thursday night as she headed to the court.
Fresh from being named the nation's top amateur athlete, she went out and scored 25 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead No. 1 Tennessee to an 89-53 victory against Vanderbilt.
"I was excited," said Holdsclaw, who became the first female basketball player to win the Sullivan Award earlier Thursday. "I've had a great career. I've accomplished so much."
Holdsclaw scored 13 of the Lady Vols' first 22 points and had 20 by halftime as Tennessee (25-1, 13-0 Southeastern Conference) cruised past intrastate rival Vanderbilt (13-12, 6-7).
IN THE AUDIENCE FOR HOLDSCLAW'S final regular-season home game were her family and friends, including track and field legend Jackie Joyner-Kersee.
